Had a great stop with our group of teens on the way to camp. House was just as advertised and the host is top notch hospitality and help when our bus broke down.
Peaceful, a piece of history with a modern day update. In the country away from all the hustle but close enough to the Tuscaloosa. Amazing property owner who stays in touch and answers all questions and makes sure you have what you need.
Nice place and quiet. Itâs an older building that could use some maintenance for example, the drains were very slow. Great communication and very friendly host.
The house needs work. And there is taxidermy in every room of the house. The taxidermy could be seen in the listing so that was not a surprise. The access doors to the outside so not latch so must be locked. And the outside, i believe it's the neighboring property, it's clutered and there's chickens and roosters that can be heard all hours of the night if you sleep in the back bedroom with bunk needs. Now, this was not a prob
We had to come up here for a medical emergency with my fiancee's sister on the way up we found country living and the people from start to finish were awesome. They made an already stressful situation and gave me one less thing to worry about
The lodge is very well equipped and clean. The lodge was pleasantly decorated with Christmas decorations. The lit Christmas tree in the front window when we pulled into the driveway was very welcoming and festive.
This house is great if youâre looking to get away but still be close to Tuscaloosa. We had a group of 10 and all slept comfortably. Plenty of room in the living and kitchen. We sat outside one night around a fire. This house is off the beaten path so itâs just you. Beds were comfortable and we had plenty of towels for the shower. I will stay here again.
The house needed a lot of work and what was worked on inside and out was totally done cheaply and without any skill whatsoever. I did not scrutinize the pictures of this house when booking it, but once we arrived we could see everything, no baseboards, dirty, swarms of bees outside on the porch. The outside was worse with the backyard full of wasps. Your view from sitting outside was a half open lean-to with piles of junk in it. The porch was inhabitable and dirty. There was no grate on the gas grill. The kitchen cabinets were all dirty to the touch and even the dishes and glasses were dirty. There was taxidermy everywhere, which I have no problem with, but sleeping with a stuffed coyote and bobcat and deer was kind of creepy. They used "Great Stuff" to seal the floor to the walls. My husband couldn't sleep because he kept hearing footsteps and noises around the house. Neither of us slept well, so we left at 4:30 a.m. I could go on and on, but I think that is enough. We will never be back.
First impression of quaintness guickly succumbed to sticky countertops, soft places in the floor, stinkbugs inside everywhere, and broke table leg in the breakfast nook.
This place felt like walking into an old family home. Everything about it was welcoming. More charm here than can be explained if you just slow down to take it all in. We needed a place to stay after my sonâs football game and I wish we had stayed longer! We will be back!
Weâve stayed in the property 3 times now and have a h time was great. Clean, very friendly owners and comfortable beds. We didnât need anything fancy, just a clean safe place to sleep and thatâs exactly what it was! We will be back again soon when visiting our kids at Bama.
This house was a perfect alternative to a hotel for us. We were just traveling through the area with trailers and bikes and didnât want to stay at a hotel. The accommodations were exactly as listed. We will stay here again if we are back in the area.
Was about what we expected from the photos and descriptions. We thought it was on the lake, but the kids didnât mind the short hike. The boys loved it and the 9 year old wanted to take the taxidermy home with us - the coyote and raccoon were her favorites. Lol
