We brought our portable propane firepit and enjoyed playing horse shoes and just sitting under the large trees having conversation and cocktails. 'Wow! This place is a slice of heaven! The peace, connection, and awe we felt for the land and our time together was incredible. Judy and Craig have this place outfitted. Very well equipped. The propane cook burners are bigger than I thought. Great quality. I was cooking for my family of six. They even have automatic outdoor lights so you can see at night if you need to make a trip to the restroom. The cleared trails make for some great walks as a family. 'This was our third stay at this property and we have always had a wonderful experience. The cabin home is very clean and offers so many amenities. It is always a pleasure to interact with the owners and we would highly recommend Roaming Elk Lodge.'

'The cabin is lovely and relaxing. It is isolated enough to enjoy the solitude of the land around you without being far from a neighbor. The location was perfect for us who had family staying at different venues from a hotel in Trinidad to camper camping at the creek a couple of miles up the road. Of the different cabin type places to stay - this one is exceptionally lovely. We would definitely stay again.'

I can see from the listing pictures that the owners have changed some furniture (chairs, bed frame) but we loved the layout of the cabin, the furniture is sturdy, taken care of and in good condition. They were readily available-met us when we parked at the lodge to escort us to our cabin; brought us extra towels, TP, soap when asked. We definitely recommend staying at this property, and would be happy to stay in any other...
