'The Snug gives you exactly what it advertises: a bed, a shower and a toilet. That's all. But I didn't need more because in a town like Galway, I was out by 8:30 and back by midnight. The location is absolutely where you want to be, right on Quay Street where a lot of great pubs are, but you can be in the Claddagh and by Galway bay within minutes as well (to spot some seals!). The staff was great too. The only complaint I can utter was that fire alarm going off twice in the first night because...

'We stayed here to weather the storm with the power being out at home. Could not be more impressed with the accommodation here. We expected from the two star rating that it would be basic but all the fixtures and fittings were of a good quality and generally it was a pleasure to stay here. Decided to book again the next night it went so well. '

'Loved this stay. Affordable, clean, quiet. It’s a bit far for a direct walk to downtown but there’s a bus stop right nearby, and we didn’t mind getting the extra walking in so mad the walk multiple times anyways. The campus is gorgeous, you can walk by the River and get a nice view of a castle. Campus wasn’t busy at all. Highly recommend if you’re in the area looking for somewhere affordable. I’ll probably be staying here whenever I’m in the city in the future.'

'Homely, comfortable if a tad dated. My room had been newly renovated. The bed and pillows were very comfortable but the rain shower had weak pressure. There was a bit of noise from children running around the corridors and playing at the rear of the hotel but it was otherwise peaceful and comfortable. The staff, without exception, were super friendly and helpful. '

"The Snug gives you exactly what it advertises: a bed, a shower and a toilet. That's all. But I didn't need more because in a town like Galway, I was out by 8:30 and back by midnight. The location is absolutely where you want to be, right on Quay Street where a lot of great pubs are, but you can be in the Claddagh and by Galway bay within minutes as well (to spot some seals!). The staff was great too. The only complaint I can utter was that fire alarm going off twice in the first night because some idiot smoked in his room, it took quite long before it was taken care of. Besides that, fantastic week, fantastic stay. "
