« A very nice hotel , good rooms and superb food and wines. Dover Sole for dinner was magnificent. Wines chosen from their adjacent wine shop ( corkage £10 per bottle ) were exceptional and good prices for Bin ends. Staff were very helpful , polite and very efficient. »

« We had a wonderful warm welcome at the Agricultural Inn. My bro and I stayed for 5 nights to meet our family who live in Penrith we had many wonderful breakfasts a few pints and a wonderful dinner. Everything was spot on! Meghan and Thomas along with John work tirelessly to ensure a fantastic stay and we truly appreciate their smiles and openess to share stories, they are ACES in the hospitality industry. « A fantastic gem of a place….accommodation clean, fresh, well appointed, individual….bed very comfortable….restaurant/menu and wine list exceptional…breakfast not to be missed….and excellent value for money, you really got what you paid for and more unlike some of the high-end chains we’ve visited recently….we will be back!! »

« La jeune femme qui nous a servi nous a consacré beaucoup de temps pour indiquer ce qu'il y avait à faire dans la région. Le bâtiment est très ancien et a beaucoup de charme. Très propre. C'était vraiment très agréable de séjourner dans cet hôtel. Dommage que nous ne sommes restés qu'une nuit. Thank you for this great stay. »

« Given that they were in the middle of renervations the pub was not open only the room was available but nice and clean once renervations complete will be an ideal place to stay »

« We traveled two weeks in Scotland and Appleby Castle had by far the most delicious dinner. Staff was small but worked hard and swift. Castle was cozy and true to its heritage. »

« Beautiful property, really friendly owner, unbelievably comfortable bed and stunning decor on deluxe room king room. Also had a lovely cooked breakfast. Great location, close to town centre with easy parking outside. Would thoroughly recommend! »

« Comfortable and good food with quick service. Plenty of sockets in the room, in useful places, which is great when travelling for business and having work to do. There wasn't a desk as it was a small single room, but there was a socket, with USB charger on the wall by the bed and a cushion to use, so working sitting on the bed was comfortable and convenient. »

« The pub is situated in peaceful countryside and is in a great location. The proprietors were so welcoming and kind, helping me to my room with my luggage. My room was comfortable, nicely decorated and the bathroom clean with nice toiletries. The food in the pub was good, and the service was friendly and efficient. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough and would certainly stay there again if I’m in the area. »
