'Overall Skamania Lodge is really great and a great place to visit. We booked two Premier King rooms and they both were overlooking the river. The view and the rooms itself were really great. The reason to give poor ratings is because of the staff. Our room heater/cooling system was not functioning and we tried to call for help at Guest services. None of them came till 20mins post that, and given it was getting late, we called again. The person at the front desk who said his name was Derek, said...

'Large room with nice beds. The location is near the road, but you didn't hear the road. The staff is not very friendly. Food in the restaurant is ok.'

'Beautiful, old world elegance. It felt like we were in Europe. The setting is stunning, the flowers were gorgeous, breakfast overlooking the water was charming. I visited with my son, but I will return with a romantic partner.'

'The Lightwell hotel provided an excellent stay. Every staff member we interacted with were helpful and friendly. The hotel was beautiful and had nice amenities. From the base camp to the bar, everything g was excellent. If you are planning to stay, the rooms were small, but very comfortable. When staying at the Lightwell, make sure to visit the rooftop terrace. Great views of the river!'

'A classic hotel right out of the great Gatsby. Accommodations were interesting because they were genuine and true to that time. But it is elegant and luxurious in a charming old school way. I highly recommend it!'
