Great Family Get-Away at Wonderful Gun Lake House

This lake house was perfect for our family vacation. Owner was thoughtful to provide all the extras like beach towels, toiletries, laundry items, etc. Kitchen was well stocked with all the right appliances and very nice dishes and silverware. Our family loved the 3 king sized beds!!! Property was well groomed. House was very clean and neat. We would recommend this house to anyone wanting a wonderful stay on Gun Lake.

Great vacation

We had our 2 sons and their families with us for a wonderful vacation. This house was very nice, clean, amd spacious. They had about everything you would need there. The bedrooms are very large and on the other end of the house which is nice with a large family sharing the house. Kitchen is large and outdoor area is very nice. Would definitely rent here again.

We loved the peaceful and serene location of this home and spent many hours on the deck enjoying the channel views. Mattresses are so comfy. Home is very well maintained. John, the owner, went above and beyond in purchasing a new Keurig and making certain that we had everything we needed. He was willing to take us for a lake tour on his pontoon (for a reasonable fee). Restaurants within 5-10 minutes include Russo’s, The Curley Cone, C’s BBQ and the Sandbar. Thank you, John!Sherry, Dawn, Gayle and Ellen

Great Family Vacation Spot!

The house has clean, uncluttered and comfortable living space, tidy bathrooms, comfortable king-size beds in the primary bedrooms, plenty of hooks where you need them, and an easy kitchen to cook in and prepare food. The yard had a nice deck, shade trees and sunny areas providing plenty of space to relax and launch the kayaks, and enjoy the fire pit. Gun Lake is a large and deep lake which made fishing great; large mouth bass and northerns were the largest catches, with blue gills and perch the easy catches. Having a marina right on the lake made pontoon rental a breeze. The Russo’s Pizzeria, very nearby, was another great resource in the area! All this provided a great family vacation spot.

Would certainly recommend!

Enjoyed our stay at Gun Lake. Everything was comfortable and clean. Our grandkids enjoyed the hot tub and the kayaks! Restaurants were minutes away. Would certainly like to go back.

Our family really enjoyed our visit to Gun Lake. The house is filled with all the conveniences of home, which made cooking a meal easy. The beds and linens were comfortable and clean. The host was very accommodating and answered quickly.The neighborhood is quiet, which made for a very pleasant, relaxing vacation.

Book here - you won't be disappointed

We had a great time at this rental!! It had everything we needed, the location was great, we rented a boat and tied up at their pier, used the kayak, enjoyed the hot tub. You know how some places offer you a thimble full of supplies (dish soap, paper towels, laundry soap, etc) when you get there? Well that won't happen here. The owner seems to care about our experience and we had everything we needed. Nice quiet neighborhood, great deck. We bought wood but didn't get a chance to use the fire pit - maybe next time. Owner was responsive. We would absolutely rent again. Thanks, John.

John is an amazing host! Would recommend his properties to anyone looking in Wayland. He went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and more! Great in responding to messages as well Had to do wedding floral for a nieces wedding and it was stressful! Was nice to return home and relax in the hot tub!!!

Girls Trip

We loved our stay. So quiet, peaceful and relaxing. The listing is accurate. Which I appreciate. That is not always the case. Super clean! Plenty of space. Plenty of TVs. Nice sheets and towels. Comfy beds! Plenty of dishes and such in fully stocked kitchen. Very nice and safe neighborhood. Just two moms and two college daughters and we felt safe. Only drawback is the quietness required especially outside. But it’s a double edged sword. We also really appreciated the quiet and serene atmosphere.

The property was exactly as John hennett explained and he was awesome with anything we needed.The Grounds place is absolutely beautiful. We all had a great time caught a lot of fish. But we just throw back. Kayaking and Pedal boards were awesome.

Spring Fling 2024

The Home was exceptionally clean. Plenty of beds, towels, kitchen ware etc. We would definately rent again. We did have trouble with the TV in the living room. We were unable to use WiFi to stream a movie from Amazon Prime. This was partly my fault, I should have contacted John when we first arrived. This is a perfect place to stay.

We had a great time. The house is exactly as the pictures indicate. It's a comfortable very clean quality home. Great Place on the channel

It was a very nice area and being on the channel was great!!! And the owners and their daughter are very sweet people, forgot my IPAD and the host delivered the next day because he was coming through my area. Thanks again for that. I will definitely be back to stay here and a little bit longer so I can enjoy all the toys for the lake.

Amazing place. This is your low key destination.

My brother and I stayed here with our families (5 adults, 3 teenagers, 1 child, 1 dog and brought my boat). We had one incident and the property manager communicated quickly. This was a great place for all of us. It was SO relaxing! I use VRBO about once a year and we always end up with backaches due to the beds. The beds in this house were amazing! SO comfortable! (my sister-in-law liked the bedding so much that she looked it up online to purchase) This may be the only VRBO that I have stayed at that I would visit again.

Amazing place

John was amazing. Easy to reach for any questions and checked in with us several times during our stay. The home was great!! There were several extras that I just loved, like extra towel hooks for all of us in the bathroom. No looking for places to hang wet towels in your room. First time I have seen that and it was a big plus! We had plenty of life jackets to choose from so we all could be in the water at the same time if wanted. And the paddle boards and kayaks were perfect. Great place for the kids to stay safe too! We fed the ducks while there (they stayed at the neighbors). We also got a can of corn and fed the fish and had a few turtles come up. They liked like cut up hot dogs too!!! All the neighbors we talked to were super nice. Close to the stores if you needed to go grab something. We cooked at the house every night so I do not have a review on the restaurants. The beds were comfy. Plenty of pillows to choose from. There are dressers where you can put you clothes if wanted and hangers in the closets. The room with bunks was perfect for the kids. They were able to get away and have their own place to have fun. Plenty of towels for us all as well as toilet paper and paper towels. We would stay here again!

Great find at Gun Lake!

What a wonderful place for our family vacation on Gun Lake! The house was beautiful and very well equipped with kayaks, paddle boards, a great deck and a dock. Our three generation family was very comfortable here.

Great getaway

Would definitely stay here again! Nice clean house on a beautiful channel! Nice long driveway with a 2 car garage would easily fit 2 cars in garage and 2 trucks with trailers plus some. Dock space was a little tight for our 24 ft crownline but it all worked out. Neighbors on one side great other everyone else not so welcoming. So if you are looking to be able to talk outside and have a fire and a good time this probably isn’t the house. Everything else was great!!!!
