Everything about the house was wonderful and the host was super responsive to any questions we had (she even Amazon’ed dish soap which the house was out of). I do think there could be more basic things for kids (plastic bowls, plates and utensils, a stool, high chair) — not the end of the world, but since it’s a kid-friendly listing that would have been helpful. The kitchen was wonderful to cook in, but again didn’t have basic things like salt and pepper, oil, tin foil, etc. The lake views were beautiful and we knew we wouldn’t have access to using it (it’s explicit in the listing), but it did make us feel more like outsiders/unwelcome in the neighborhood. The neighborhood was also a little weird/unfriendly — we almost got a ticket when parking our car at a local playground for our kids to play (we were told we needed to live in Trumble to use it). One of the neighbors was also giving us side eye when our kids were playing in the backyard one evening — yes, they were joyfully playing, but it was also at a reasonable hour (6pm).
