'Reaching the villa is an adventure, driving over a very steep but well drivable narrow road. If you rent a car (you do need a car!!) you should go for a diesel. We didn't. Our Nissan Micra made it barely through the hairpins in first gear. A diesel would have been much easier to drive. Once there you get an astonishing view over Almunecar, the hills and the sea. 'Beautifully located property, with excellent views of the sea and a short drive to the nearby town. The house is well kitted with all creature comforts. Good kitchen, comfortable beds, spacious bedrooms, great terraces and two toilets. Plenty of activities in the nearby towns such a s Nerja and Almañúcar. La Herradura has good chiringitos as well as restaurants and small supermarkets. The beaches are mostly pebbley but nice for family swim. We had an excellent time and the view from the...

'We hebben hele fijne weken gehad. Huis met veel grond en bomen er omheen. Van alle gemakken voorzien. Heel veel privacy en rust. Peter is een geweldige host. '

De rust, de prachtige omgeving, het groot zwembad met voldoende plaats om in de schaduw en de zon te zitten, het zeer goed uitgeruste appartement met goede bedden en 2 gezellige terrassen, een fantastisch zicht, in de buurt van gezellige dorpjes, niet ver van stranden en de zee, zeer lieve eigenaars die je bijstaan maar je ook je privacy geven, ….. Views around the sea and mountains, with a spectacular sunrise and sunset every day. Communication with the owners was smooth and reliable. Fran and his wife are very hospitable and do everything they can to make your stay as comfortable as possible. This house is highly recommended!'

'We loved the house, the pool was very nice (not heated, that was not ideal in april) and on cold days the fireplace is wonderful. The kitchen works very fine, but it could be a little cleaner. The house is perfectly situated, close to the main road, but also on walking distance to the beach. Almunecar itself is a lovely village, the centre is very nice, and also the aquarium and the birds zoo are worth a visit!'

'Beautiful garden and lovely pool. Great that the pool was enclosed for our 3 year old. We visited end of May and while the temperatures were already in the low 30s, we did not need to turn on the airconditioning as the house remained cool.Hosts were friendly and took the time to explain everything. It really felt like you were in the middle of nature - we heard at least eight different species of birds in a single hour!Highly recommend.'
