Cottages in Thirlmere

'I could tell from the moment we walked into The Hidden Door Cottage, Bowral that this was a very special place. The Cottage was just beautiful, the ultra modern air conditioner was on and we felt so welcomed and comfortable. Our Hosts Jo & Greg have created a luxury retreat in Bowral which is only minutes away from the main street. We loved our Bowral stay and most important, we'll be back.'

'Our stay at Lavinia's property was wonderful. The accommodation is first class with so many thoughtful inclusions offering a superior level of comfort. It is close to the main attractions in the area. And Lavinia's helpfulness in communication prior to our visit was especially welcome.'

'The cottage was inviting, cozy and had everything we needed, my son thoroughly enjoyed all the books and the cows too. The surrounds were so quiet, the gardens impeccably maintained and the bonus of fresh eggs from the chickens was wonderful. We explored the towns of Mittagong and Bowral and Berrima and were spoiled for choice of great cafes and restaurants. We certainly hope to return!'

'Quaint little cottage in a reasonable state of repair. Very close to the railway line and noisy at night with a lot of trains. Less trains on Saturday night. The showers were good and the cooking facilities were fine.'

'We had 9 staying at Lavender Cottage and the bedding and beds were wonderful. The layout of the cottage was good, with dining room and lounge large enough for all, with comfortable seating etc. Surrounding was beautiful, and felt very countryside while still only 10-15 mins out of Mittagong. Great 4pm leaving on Sundays. On the downside, property needs considerable maintenance on appliances, heating etc, and outdoor cleaning on BBQ and furniture. 'This was the perfect place for our wee group to stay. 100%clean, everything we needed front and back sitting areas, chickens next store. Easy parking., easy drive or 20 min walk into town and very close to a delicious pastry shop. Would thoroughly recommend and would stay again.'

'Lovely little cottage, very well renovated with new appliances and modern fittings, merging nicely with the beautiful original sandstone building. Furnishings and decor are quaint, tasteful reminders of a bygone era. The kitchen is very well kitted out - there is really nothing more you could want to make your stay enjoyable.
