Everything was okay but only the floor carpet in girls room I think they need to put on the timber floor it will be better than the carpet .and no parking for customer it’s very hard to get a parking

We apologise for the stolen drinks Melissa! To ensure it stops happening I've asked the manager to remind people when they're checking in to be respectful of other people's things in the fridges. Thanks for your feedback :)

Great location: beaches, shops, cinemas, restaurants just on the doorsteps. The owner Julie is a lovely lady. The room is nice and comfortable. The bathrooms are clean. Kitchen is good. But the amenities are very basic: no plugs for phone in the room, no towels and hair dryer (you need to hire them). Wifi didn't work in my room. For a short stay I absolutely recommend you to stay with them.

Thanks for your feedback. We appreciate honest reviews and listen to all of them. I'm the new owner, Chris, and I will take this on board. The wifi is already being upgraded, I'll look at putting more power recepticles in for phone charging. We've had problems with people stealing the towels, but trying to create a solution that works. Hope we can contribute to your stay at The Entrance next time :)

Not great
I booked in for one night to break a long journey. However this backpackers was noisy and had a weird smell. From the furthest room in the corridor I could still hear the talking and loud tv until nearly midnight, as well as a dryer or spinner in the next room that started and stopped from 10.30pm. Near midnight I packed my stuff and left. For me the cheap price wasn't worth a night of no sleep.

Room smelt badly like dirty socks. Doonas ripped and old lumpy pillows. Bathroom and kitchen basic and only reasonably clean. Easy entry and sign in procedure. Breakfast bag supplied with 2 slices of frozen white bread and some cornflakes.

We hired a room for a couple with a double bed.The room had steel frame bunks for 7 people with a double bed as the bottom bunk of a two tier setup. In the end we chose to sleep in separate single bunks. The facility was clean. We were pretty much alone and although there were others staying there we only had contact with one person in the morning we left, apart from the man who gave us the key when we arrived but he left early. Someone did their washing at 3:00 AM and the spin cycle made one heck of a noise - we think it was a permanent resident.

No room despite booking confirmation!
I booked this room well in advance for a pre-planned event but when I tried to check in on the day I was told that no room was allocated to me and no other similar room was available. Due to the event being on there were very limited options without having to pay A LOT for another hotel. I managed to scab a night on a lounge at a friends place but this was definitely not the night I wanted before the event.

Hi Cian, There are no words to describe my disappointment in this situation. Unfortunately your reservation came through at the worst possible moment, as I was halfway through transitioning between reservation management systems. Although this transition only took a couple of hours, your booking somehow was made without any notification, and therefore wasn't recorded in the new system. By the time I had realised your booking was there we were already booked out. I did call you to advise you of the situation to which you said you would arrange something else. Usually we are far more organised and I would like to invite you to spend the night with us free of charge next time you are up this way. All the best.

First time at a backers an i was very impressed. After a long flight i needed a place to sleep an they went out of their way to provide a room all to myself which was incredible quiet an warm an clean an very comfotable, i was so appreciative of their care.

Hi, Thanks for taking the time to write us a review. I'm sorry to hear that your experience with us was not as good as you hoped. I remember your check in and can completely empathise with your disappointment! We were in the process of having a new roof fitted while you were staying, although this was supposed to have been completed weeks beforehand, but due to adverse weather conditions it had gone on far longer than expected. Because of this, and due to the fact all our air is mechanically filtered and pumped into the building from the roof (because we are in the town centre and have no outside walls), after a busy few days and lots of guests the air had become quite musty. I did understand that this was not your fault, and due to working in the medical profession (by your own admission) you might have been over-sensitive to it, so this is why you were offered a full refund for your stay. I can assure you that the roof has since been completed and all our systems are up and running as usual and after a deep clean we smell much better! By means of reconciliation I'd like to offer you a 50% discount on your next stay with us, so we can have a chance to change your mind! I look forward to seeing you soon!
