'Very convenient location in Japantown close to lots of good restaurants and interesting shops. Hotel is very clean. Bathroom is a bit awkward if sharing with someone you aren’t close to (toilet has a door but the sink and shower area are only separated from the room with a small half curtain. Makes it hard to keep a light on as well without disturbing the other person if going to the toilet at night.'

'The Laurel Inn is up in Laurel Heights, away from the tourist/hotel concentration down by the Ferry Building. For us this was a big plus. The motel is comfortable, public transport is right outside the front door - and Muni is a great way to get around - plus there's a shopping strip just two blocks away on California St. A nice place all around.'

'My boyfriend and I LOVED our stay. The rooms are on the small side, but they are adorable and just like the photos. We both slept really well. The shower had amazingly good water pressure for a hotel of this age. We were impressed!There is a great pastry and coffee shop right downstairs called Stella's. It couldn't be more convenient. 'This accommodation lies close to Union Square and is an excellent basis for exploring San Francisco. Although close to the Tenderloin neighborhood, the area around the hotel is safe. The staff is friendly, and there is a modern fitness center on the 2nd floor (24h open). The rooms were good, although the carpet could be cleaned more thoroughly. '
