Cottages in Stannard

'We were there 1 night but if it had been a longer stay we would have used the kitchen. Kitchen was great but it was light on tools , pots and things to make preparing food easy. No paper towels sponge to scrub dishes. A full complement of in shower products… maybe a fixed to the wall? Blankets provided for pullout sofa were great! But didn’t feel fresh. Overall we loved our stay'

'The hotel is very, very much overrated by Expedia. The price is much too high for a hotel without a lounge, restaurant and bar. Only once in a three days the bed linen is replaced. The location of the hotel is isolated: there is nothing on walking distance. But most shocking is the amount waste created by a simple breakfast; the hotel successfully prevents any dishwashing. It is far from sustainable!'

'It was quiet, charming in a rustic way, Very clean, and with lots of attention from Kris, the on-site property manager. We were right on Lake Willoughby and it was absolutely gorgeous. There's not a lot to do in the area in the fall / winter, but we wanted just to go and relax, and we did that! It was perfect for us. We stayed in cabin number one, the original log cabin, and as one might expect it had a bit of a draft - but fresh air is a good thing when it's offset by a good heating system! The...
