Oceanfront Condominium with Balcony and Pool

Shipwatch oceanfront condominiums, offered by Hodnett Cooper, have been a favorite family destination for many years. With just 52 residences, Shipwatch is a quiet community ideal for both weekend getaways and multiple month escapes.

Shipwatch 102 has been fully renovated top to bottom with hard surface flooring throughout, new furniture and renovated kitchen and bathrooms. The kitchen has crisp fresh feel with white granite countertops, white shaker style cabinets and stainless appliances. The overall color scheme exudes serenity with a neutral tone. The community amenities include boardwalk access to the heart of St. Simons' sand beaches, a swimming pool, large grass lawn and outdoor grilling area. Though this community is located directly on the ocean, individual residences, unless otherwise specified, do not offer ocean views.
This property will accepts pets under 35 pounds for a $150 non-refundable pet fee.

Wonderful Accommodations & Grounds

Everything about the stay was amazing. The condo itself was very clean and beautifully decorated. For an older condo complex, the grounds were well maintained. The only issue was upon check-in, the number to access the condo was not on the paperwork in the dropbox, which required a call to the office manager and delay to getting into the condo/made us slightly late for a family celebration of life dinner. Overall, we would return and loved the stay!

LOVELY UNIT!

FEEDBACK FOR OWNERS: 1. New toaster would be nice. We had to hold lever down to toast bagels. 2. A narrow table @ each end of loveseat would be convenient for guests. 3. Sheets are VERY scratchy & uncomfortable. The walk to the beach from the property was muuuuch farther than we expected—abt 1/2 mile of difficult terrain for us. After the 1st day we went to the public beach just down the street. Got there around 10am & no problem @ that time finding parking space. Enjoyed the beach! Be prepared—A/C in unit is very loud. Condo has been very nicely renovated & other than what I described, we were extremely pleased with it. It was very clean & we enjoyed the WiFi. We’d like to plan a future trip to St. Simons & stay in the same unit again. Thank you, owners, for overall lovely accommodations!

A Great Two Weeks

Staying at Ship Watch was a relaxing experience! I enjoyed the clean, sparkly pool along with the short walk to the ocean. It was definitely a home away from home. I’ll be back!

Good stay

We enjoyed our stay. My biggest complaint isn't controllable. The bugs/mosquitoes on walk to beach and around pool was bad. Our first night was good at pool. The next morning on way to beach was when my husband and i got eat up then seems we had to deal with them every time we was outside. Im not a fan of the little lizards either. The only real problems with property was needs some updating and maybe more of walk way to beach/ocean.

Location is great. Unit is clean but definitely dated decor and furnishings. It wouldn’t take much to modernize the feel. We had electrical issues one night and management quickly relocated us to another unit and resolved the problem the next day.

Friendly convenient location.

Enjoyed our stay but unit needs updating. Also feel there is a hazard with the small step at door. Needs something to draw attention to it. Husband tripped and fell but not hurt. Also dishwasher did'nt seem to heat dry or clean very well. Would be good to clean out old stuff not using out off clotet or cabinets.

The place was clean but it was wayyy to expensive for what you got! The condo is so small and takes you back to the 1960's NEEDS UPDATED. The queen beeds are horrible! And yes its on the beach BUT you have to walk down this grass path thats about 1 mile long! For The money i paid and what is actually is ....no i would not stay in this condo again.

Good location

It was clean overall just a little dusty. Furniture and decor is very outdated. Needs newer cookware in kitchen. Bed was comfortable but could use newer spreads. Not very easy to move in with your belongings. Kind of a weird setup. Beach access is the best thing about this property. A little bit of an investment in updating everything would make this place much more enjoyable. Great potential and great location!

TLDR: I would not bring my kid back to this condo but if it was just an adults looking for a place to crash it would work fine. Pros: very close to the beach and pool, convenient parking, adequate beds and towels, new washer and dryer. Easy check in and check out. Cons: carpet was very old, did not seem clean (the unfortunate choice of having carpet in a beach condo). Dryer filter had not been cleaned in a long time, dryer lint was over flowing out of the filter. Master bathroom has a closet with blind type doors that have not been cleaned in a long time. Cooking utensils did not seem clean (food on the mixer). Microwave interior coating had chipped off and large amounts (3-4 inches) are exposed and look rusty.

Location cant be beat

Location is amazing. This unit is on the lowest floor possible and 2 units away from pool. Might not be for everyone but for a family with a 3 and 5 year old, it was amazing. Would stay here again.

Spent a few days with my girlfriends. Location to beach and restaurants was very good. Pool area was ok. Condo unit needs updating as decorations and bedspreads are old and and out of date. Floor and kitchen items could have been cleaned better. Good beds but flat pillows. Worked for us but would prefer a little more modern place.

Vacation 2019

Our stay was very enjoyable. The property was great and offered easy access to the beach. The pool was nice after a long day on the beach for the kids after dinner for a quick swim. Restaurants and shops are really close.
