My experience with Royalton Antigua was so unbelievably awful that I genuinely believe this property should shut its doors immediately until it learns the meaning of hospitality, professionalism, and basic human respect.
I did not end up staying here — not by choice, but because this resort refused to check me in, despite the fact that I had already paid in full through Expedia. Their policies were never disclosed, never explained in advance, and were enforced with a level of arrogance and hostility that is absolutely unacceptable in any service industry, let alone a so-called “luxury” resort.
The front desk experience alone was shocking — chaotic, dismissive, emotionally reactive, and downright disrespectful. Instead of trained hospitality staff, what I encountered felt like individuals who had no sense of service, no problem-solving ability, and no professionalism whatsoever.
And as for the manager/supervisor who handled my situation — let me say this clearly, as my personal opinion:
You have no business working in hospitality. None.
Your conduct was unprofessional, your tone was aggressive, and your attitude toward a paying guest was beyond unacceptable. Hospitality is about welcoming people, solving problems, and offering service — qualities I did not witness in the slightest.
Because of this resort’s negligence and failure to operate with any level of competence, I was left scrambling to secure lodging elsewhere — last-minute, stressed, and essentially displaced ……….
