'The service at this property was great and helpful with everything. But the rooms are in severe need of updating or deep cleaning. My partner and I were first placed in room 6312 and it was bug ridden, full of cobwebs, smelled of mold, and still dirty. I had to kill about 20 bugs. We were luckily able to get a room change into a much cleaner room but still couldn’t get over the amount of bugs we had to kill. If I could add videos to my review you would be able to see how many were crawling all...

'EXTREMELY OVERPRICED The building is extremely old and has not been updated. Old AC units Bathroom and sick were dirty. Windows dirty...I would definitely not recommend'

'Checkin proces without a physical reception is cumbersome and not clear. Many messages are to be interchanged and upon the notification that check-in authorization would be disclosed 48 hours in advance, only on the arrival day itself at 3 PM an email was sent. In addition, we have been charged twice for the parking lot, whereas it was made clear we brought one car while having booked two rooms.'

'The Inn is quaint and has so much history, but it is need of some TLC and updating. The gardens and front entrance needs weeding and trimming. There is no elevator and the stairs have carpeting that is worn through. Our bathroom had an old, deep Jacuzzi tub with a wooden step to get in it. There was no bath matt which made it very slippery. It was almost impossible to get out of. We used it only one day if our two night stay. There was no storage in the bathroom - just a bench and pedestal...

'The first room they had brought me to hadn't been cleaned in days at least with dust and dirt on all the surfaces and what looked like dried mud or something on the bathroom sink and bathroom tub. The second room was better but clearly still didn't get duste, and there was a dead fly on the bed with what looked like dog hair surrounding it. The door lock was broken and had to be locked from the inside before closing the door and still took multiple tries to get it to lock properly.'

'I was a little nervous about the “no check-in desk” (only emailed codes for the main entry and room doors) but it all worked out fine. The room was decorated interestingly. The scent of the soap/Shampoo was not for us, but the staff came minutes after we emailed them to remove it. Coffee shop is great. Location can’t be beat. Owner sat out on the porch one day chatting with guests. Friendly guy!'

'The Ashwood Inn is a lovely place to stay in Central Huron. It’s very close to Grand Bend, Goderich and Bayfield. Many of the best beaches on Ontario’s West Coast are just minutes away. I would highly recommend staying here as the rooms are spacious, it’s very quiet, and the staff were very helpful.'

'Bathroom very small . No selection of teas. No milk for tea. No teaspoons for stirring drinks. Tiny bedroom. Very limited continental breakfast menu. Parking spots full, no where to park. More stairs to room than expected.'

'The location is prime, practically next door to the Avon Theater. Our room was large with a beautiful updated bathroom… a good elevator which is nice for an older Victorian building and not always the case. The restaurant is quaint and had a nice choice for their breakfast/brunch menu and it was well prepared. I would recommend this place.'
