The house and location was perfect! It was by far the best VRBO we have stayed. The checkout instructions were very easy. Lori was extremely helpful. Unfortunately, the hot tub at the pool was broken and the part was on back order. We would definitely stay here and again and recommend this home to friends and family.

Perfect Stay for a Special Occasion in South Haven!

We had an incredible stay at this VRBO in South Haven! The house was spotless, beautifully maintained, and had everything we needed for a comfortable visit. Communication with the owner was seamless—they were responsive, helpful, and made sure our stay went off without a hitch.We were in town for my daughter’s wedding at Black River Barn, and the location couldn’t have been more perfect. It was just a short drive to the venue, which made our busy schedule so much easier to manage. The house was also just a couple of minutes from downtown South Haven, where we enjoyed some lovely walks, great restaurants, and charming shops.This home truly felt like a home away from home, and we’re so grateful for the experience during such a special time for our family. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area—you won’t be disappointed!

Lovely Home in South Haven

Girls trip! Beaches and downtown minutes away. Beautiful home inside and out. Plenty of room for fives girls and all our stuff. The best stocked house I’ve ever stayed in. Lori was great to work with, gave us suggestions, and responded right away to any questions I had. I would stay here again.

Beautiful Home

My family had a wonderful stay at Idlewood. It was the cleanest rental I’ve ever stayed in! Hats off to their cleaning crew! Everything was as described and more. The kitchen had everything we needed including a full spice rack, olive oil, and balsamic. The host was amazing at helping me prepare for the trip. Property is in a nice, quiet neighborhood which also means more driving to places which we knew ahead of time based on the listing’s descriptions. (Without small kids you could walk to more stuff) We saw wild turkeys every morning! The outdoor area is very small but with all the outdoor offerings in South Haven we were ok with that. We loved the new pool - it’s so close to the house. Don’t plan on using the pool restrooms though because in the entire week we were there, there was no toilet paper, soap, or paper towels. But since you’re so close to the house it’s not a big deal. This is a great house if you’re looking for a nice, large family friendly rental! Kids of all ages will be happy and accommodated! Thanks for a great stay!

Amazing vacation home

My family and I had a great time here. There was plenty of space for us all. The newly finished basement was a pleasant surprise and the 5 kids loved playing down there. It was a convenient location to downtown and multiple beaches. Everything was thought of in this house...beach toys, spices, shampoo, conditioner, etc.

A great stay

This was our second time staying here. The place is wonderful and super clean. Well stocked with things so makes packing easy. The garage is filled with plenty of stuff for beach/water/activities so no need to bring those things. Loretta always has such a quick response with any questions. Will be booking again :)

Amazing stay! Lori is so accommodating & responsive. The house is immaculately clean & is completely stocked with everything you could need. Love the location & how the house is on the corner near the woods so very quiet as well. We will for sure be back again next year!

This home is a JOY and so is the owner!

We loved this home from the moment we stepped inside. Bright, spacious, and pristine. Loads of storage space. House is generously stocked with everything you need--bath products, laundry supplies, cooking oils and spices, tons of towels, kids' books, toys, even night lights throughout. Plentiful beach towels, chairs, toys, and a special beach stroller that works on the sand. Close to all beaches, and a quick drive (or leisurely walk) to the pool. We stayed for 9 days and rotated in various groups of friends and family. Everyone from ages 3.5 to 82 loved this home. The bedroom and full bath on the main floor was wonderful for my mom who struggles with steps. The primary bedroom upstairs is enormous--such a treat! Grandkids loved the toys, books, and bunk room. The owner, Lori, is fantastic. We consider her a friend!

Idlewood Vacation Stay

Owners did a great job of providing the necessities for a multi-day stay including plenty of beach toys for the kids and games and toys as well as a double stroller and wagon for the walk to the beach. House was nicely furnished. Only drawback was it seemed a bit tight for the amount of young children we had (4 under the age of 4), and a finished basement or bigger backyard would have helped. Also, we were a bit surprised by how close the proximity of the neighbors’ houses were to this house.

Relaxing family summer getaway

We stayed at this property for the second consecutive summer and had a fabulous stay. Our group included two families with small children. This home has every amenity you would want for young families staying at a beach home. The owner even installed detachable spray hoses in the showers to aid in showering children following our review from last summer. I can’t say enough positive things and can’t wait to stay again.

In town for son’s wedding!

Idlewood Cottage was spectacular! We traveled to South Haven from New York State for our son’s wedding. The house was perfect for all involved from a 90 year old Grandmother down to an almost two year old! There was a large supply of beach chairs, beach towels and toys plus everything you would ever need in a rental home. Beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space for everyone to relax. Lori was a great host and was willing to help in anyway to make our time in South Haven just perfect! South Haven fireworks for July 4th were awesome too!

Can’t wait to come back!

The house/garage were very well appointed with everything we could need. Cozy furniture and living area. We enjoyed the fire pit each evening and had all the equipment we needed to make breakfast each morning. Beds were comfortable and all the bathroom amenities were an added plus.
