With Newport just a few miles up the road where you can visit the famous Oregon Coast Aquarium, this South Beach home has something for everyone.

Afterward, come home to have a relaxing soak in the jetted tub. Inside, the open concept offers plenty of space for everyone to enjoy, and you'll love snuggling up on the comfy furniture to watch your favorite movies and shows on the large TV. The full kitchen has all the appliances, counter space, and cabinet storage you need to cook up delicious meals for everyone to enjoy at the dining table with seating for your guests. The breakfast bar includes bar stools and the wrap-around deck is furnished for alfresco meals. There are plenty of board games and the downstairs entertainment boasts a small library, an extra TV, and plenty of room for the kids to play. Fantastic location. Beautiful views. This was a very nice gathering spot for the family - plenty of room and nicely equipped (except no patio dining table!). As you can tell from the pics, the furnishings are dated, but adequate. The carpets are worn and need cleaning - wood floors would be great in there! Beach access is being restored and will be a welcome addition at the price point. We enjoyed our stay. Make sure Vacasa sends you a picture of where to turn - difficult to find!

Terrific views, but house was ultimately disappointing

This house has a wonderful view of the beach and a lot of light coming into the main living area. And unfortunately, that's it's selling point. The rest of the house has been ignored. This is a house that doesn't appear to have been updated since the day it was built in 1993. Everything about it is dated: the finishes, the furniture, the appliances, the faded artwork, the decor, even the tablecloth and bedspreads. While the upstairs is filled with light, the downstairs feels dark and a bit creepy—definitely not as bright as the photos suggest. My kids didn't want to sleep down there. The deck is long overdue for some care. The WiFi was sluggish even after a router reboot - we couldn’t even return texts to the property manager. The kitchen had sticky (think: syrup) cabinets and drawers, and the utensils were extremely low quality. The sliding glass doors didn’t lock, the mattresses were rock hard throughout the house, the pillows were ragged and lumpy, and the ice maker didn’t work. Several basic amenities were missing—no hair dryer downstairs, no pens, no spices, no tissues, no washcloths. "Plenty of board games" amounted to several incomplete decks of cards and Jenga. There were no extra comforts with this house. We had to request check-in info the day prior to arrival and never received check-out instructions. With a little TLC, this place could be fabulous, but I would not stay again in its current state.

Seafood and Wine Festival weekend

Needs more signage. We turned into the first place our GPS told us to and we were horrified at what we saw. We hoped that wasn’t it. We drove to the next drive way which did not show the address on the sign and found the house. Cell service was sketchy. Other than that it was a beautiful home and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Well equipped.

We like the location, size of home, and the curb appeal is good. This is our second 2-week stay in 2 years and find the home is in decline. The property hasn't been updated in many years. Our guests found the queen beds downstairs very uncomfortable; comforters old and unclean; carpets throughout are terribly stained; deck boards soft and spongy; minimal window coverings (none between this home and the neighbors) and many don't function; screen door didn't work; kitchen faucet difficult to turn off; some windows won't open; and front door lock somewhat difficult to work. We understand a beach house can be rustic and aren't bothered by that fact but this seemed to be more "in decline" and needs some serious attention. In addition, it would be wonderful if the beach access was repaired. We will likely book elsewhere in the future but would reconsider if many of these issues were corrected.

Beautiful ocean views from this house and close proximity to the beach and town made for a wonderful stay for our family. Although dated, the house was well furnished and supplied with all we needed. We definitely would stay again!

Great location, nice house - needs serious updating for safety

We enjoyed our stay. The property is beautifully located and has nice big rooms. The rooms were clean, flowers were on the table and the whales were spouting outside the window. The windows needed a serious cleaning - pressure washing? The deck is NOT safe for small children - the railing cords are very loose. The stairs down to the beach need at least a good railing to be safe. The big rug in the main room and one out of the garage were serious tripping hazards - bent up on corners where someone else tripped before us. A cupboard door was broken off the hinge. The bathtub/shower downstairs was very high sided and not easy for even the adults to climb into. The toilets all need upgrading to taller ones. There was a ripped up couch that needs to be tossed in the master suite - pretty gross. Someone (previous guest? owner?) left a closet full of clothes in the master suite closet and boots and shoes in the garage. The safety concerns MUST be addressed soon or someone is going to get hurt. I have pictures if you need them.

Just wonderful

Everything a family could wish for on beach vacation. Great ocean views direct access to the beach, very complete stocked kitchen. Beach is miles long in each direction, and best of all you have the entire beach almost to yourself.

Perfect family getaway

Shell seeker was a great house on the coast for a family weekend. The open living space had wonderful views and was a great place for puzzles, board games and communal meals. The mattresses all felt a little old but overall was a comfortable stay for a weekend. Would rent again.

Great vacation rental

Fantastic family getaway location. Beautiful views with lots of space to spread out. Kitchen was fully stocked for cooking. Only negatives were the beach access is a little steep for little kids or older people and one of the puzzles was missing a piece.
