My sister and I have always wanted to visit Smith Island. This house was perfect! Well appointed, comfortable, great location and terrific host. The golf cart was such a huge bonus. We had amazing water tours, walked, relaxed, spotted more birds than we could count. Everyone on the island was beyond friendly. Just had a wonderful time which was amplified by the great accommodations!
The cottage was very homey, pretty and clean. The furnishings and color scheme have the cottage a wam feel. What was a particularly nice touch was the cute doggie towel on the bench by the front door and doggie bags for clean up. The dog towel came in handy since my dear darling rolled on a rotten duck egg. The host was very friendly and accessible if needed. Will definitely stay there again.
Enjoyed Smith Island , great place to stay, friendly people, loved the golf cart a real plus! Flies and mosquitoes were terrible, restaurant food was just OK! Make sure you get food and supplies before coming!
From I moment I walked in the rental I was pleasantly surprised how spacious, clean and comfortable it was. It had a great color scheme that worked well together. I felt right at home with all the amenities.
Smith Island was on our bucket list of visits, and for spring break we finally went. Castaway Cottage is great!!!! It is the perfect place to stay, and Smith Island is a great way to get away from work and school and the buzz of life on the mainland, which was our whole point of the trip. We totally recommend this house, it is adorable, it has everything you need, and we took our dog and it is SOOOO pet friendly! Oh my gosh, we didn't want to leave! We are absolutely planning a summer trip and staying at Castaway Cottage. Book Island Belle ferry, the Captain is the best and he is FAST, he gets you there and back way faster than the other ferry and he is awesome! Totally recommend!
The island is a beautiful and peaceful. Everyone there is so friendly and helpful. The cottage was a very clean and comfortable place to stay. We had 3 adults and 2 huskies and the home was very spacious. It is close to the docks, restaurant, and grocery store. We enjoyed our stay. If youâre looking for a peaceful and relaxing getaway this is the place to go!
Castaway Cottage was as quaint and clean as can be. We absolutely loved it. And it was so much fun using the golf cart. We dined at the restaurant and learned how to make the Smith Island cake. And we were blessed by the camp meeting on Sunday. It was a wonderful stay. And of course Laura was just great.
Canât recommend this property and the island itself highly enough. Communication was handled well between property managers and owner. Very responsive and helpful. One note is to be prepared for an adventure. Showing up for the passenger ferry and parking logistics all were a bit stressful but ended up not being a problem. Bring small bills in cash to tip the guy who loads the boat in Crisfield. Otherwise it was nice that most places in the island now take card or venmo. Highly recommend getting crabs and shanty tour from Captain Kitching. He delivers at night right to the cottage. Had a great night with the wonderful owner at Jack and Pickles on the Fourth of July. She has great plans for the future of the cottage, so we will definitely be returning! Bugs werenât too bad at all.
We really enjoyed our stay @ Bizzy Bungalow. It was very clean and well-stocked. The pink bee decor and the matching kitchen cookware and utensils was adorable. We especially loved the beautiful wine glasses! The teenager girls favorite part was the provided golf cart; we enjoyed riding it to see the sunset every evening. đ Host was very responsive.
Such a sweet house! The accents of pink everywhere were charming. While there were indications that the house is a work in progress (a couple of wall patches needed for example), it's obvious that the owners adore their home and it shows in many ways. Home was very well equipped. Nothing was overlooked. Plenty of towels & blankets, the kitchen had it all! While I'm sure the contents change depending on who has been there recently, there was more than enough basics like spices & condiments. I appreciate the dedication to a theme & the pink along with the bees everywhere were super fun. Even the cutlery is pink! There was plenty of fridge and cabinet space for our needs. The window AC units did a wonderful job keeping the rooms cool. The bedroom with the twin beds didn't have an AC unit but the two teens that stayed in there had zero complaints so it must have been comfortable. The bed in the primary bedroom was wonderful, very comfortable! While on Smith Island we enjoyed the museum, both restaurants, the bakery & don't miss Jack and Pickles! What a cute little arcade! Our teens loved their time there. A day pass was just $3 & you could play any of the games for as long as you wanted. There were snacks there to buy too. Just a tiny stroll from the arcade, the owners have created a tiny play village for little ones & they even have a vending machine so you can get corn to feed the ducks & chickens. One day we took a boat to Tylerton for lunch. This was a perfect 3 day getaway!
The house was quaint and cozy but not cramped, had everything I needed plus more. The included golf cart was definitely one of the most value amenities. Host family was very helpful and responded to inquiries immediately. She even reminded me what boat and time to head back to mainland. If youâre looking for a different, non-touristy getaway this home and Smith Island is it!
I loved our time at the Bungalow, it is perfectly appointed, pretty as a picture and very comfortable. I loved our time on the island and canât wait to come back!
My wife and I LOVED staying the residence. It is perfect in everyway and we will be booking another stay (if they will have us!). Property owner and community were great, very helpful and kind.
