The Star House is a mid-century modern jewel box in the heart of West Sedona. With stunning views of Thunder Mountain, you’re just a 2-minute walk to the popular Sugarloaf trailhead. After a day on the trails, enjoy the heated pool and hot tub, create your masterpiece in the Ooni pizza oven, and gather around the fire circle to watch the stars come out. We lovingly remodeled this home, intent on retaining its original charm while updating nearly everything—we’re so excited to share it with you!
When we lived in this home, it was nothing like what you see today, but we were already in love. As mid-century modern (MCM) fanatics, we were instantly called to the design. Just like we did, you will enjoy hikes from your doorstep and leisurely strolls through the quiet neighborhood. Listen to the birdsong during the day, and the coyotes calling to each other at night.
We knew the home had huge potential, so we spent over two years meticulously developing plans to remodel it. In January of 2025, a flurry of contractors descended on the home, and the work began.
Nearly everything you see is brand new. We ditched the tiny original windows, and added massive new ones to let in the breathtaking red rock views. The new chef’s kitchen includes a 36” Smeg gas range, a Sub-Zero refrigerator, and all of the appliances and cooking implements you would want in your own kitchen—and then some!
The two bathrooms are completely new—you’ll see that we had fun designing them :) Both bedrooms have a plush king bed, a TV and soundbar, and access to the pool deck. A memory foam queen mattress folds out of the living room sofa, and actually sleeps real humans in total comfort.
Modern insulation and a new HVAC system mean energy efficiency and comfort throughout the year. The original red rock fireplace remains, now with a gas burner so that you can enjoy the cozy warmth of a fire with the flip of a switch.
Outside, you’ll find multiple spaces to enjoy the views and Sedona’s amazing weather. In the backyard: kick back on the sun loungers by the pool, do yoga in the workout corner, soak in the hot tub, or go swimming any time of year (see note on pool heating). On the front patio: create something special with the Ooni pizza oven or BBQ grill (propane provided), dine outside with some of Sedona’s best views, and trade stories around the gas fire pit.
The 11.5 kW EV charger is compatible with Tesla (NACS) and nearly every other EV (J1772). Charge as much as you want, for free, no adapters required.

POOL HEATING
Please contact us at least one week prior to your stay to arrange for the pool to be heated. The cost is $50 per night of your reservation. The pool is maintained to at least 75º from June 1 to September 30 at no charge. You can heat the spa year-round at no charge.
You will have full access to the entire home, garage, outdoor living spaces, backyard, pool, and hot tub.
We live locally, and are available 24/7 if needed. We are just a message or phone call away throughout your stay!
You will be staying in a quiet residential neighborhood. Please be respectful of the neighbors :) You will be centrally located, and just a short walk or drive to many of the area`s top attractions.

Rideshares like Uber or Lyft are rare in Sedona, but you can make use of public transit options.
Use the free Sedona park-and-ride shuttle to get to popular trailheads where parking is difficult. The Posse Grounds Park & Ride is a 7-minute drive from the home. Shuttles run year-round, Thursday thru Sunday.
Alternatively, the Sedona Shuttle Connect will transport you to and from any location within city limits (including this home). The cost is $2 per person, $1 for select groups, and free for children 5 and under. Download the TransLoc app to request a ride, Thursday thru Sunday, 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
Violating any of the house rules can lead to your reservation being canceled immediately without a refund.
• No glass in the pool area.
• We do not charge extra for additional guests. However, the number of guests staying MUST match the number of guests specified on the reservation. No unregistered guests are allowed on the property at any time.
• Pets are not allowed. Any evidence of pets may incur a $500 deep cleaning fee.
• No smoking or vaping inside or on property. Any evidence of these activities may incur a minimum $1,000 deep cleaning fee.
• We are unable to accommodate late check-out. Checking out after 10:00 AM will incur a $250 fee.
• Fires, candles, fireworks, and other open flames are prohibited
• No firearms allowed on property
• Do not move furniture
• Do not unplug, move, or tamper with electronic devices (WiFi, security system, locks, etc.)
• Parties, special events, and retreats are not allowed per City of Sedona local ordinance
• Minimum age to book a reservation is 25 years old. Additional guests may be younger.
• Guest making the reservation must have identity verified and provide a current phone number
• A $25 shipping and handling fee applies to items left behind
We are committed to complying with state and local regulations, which is why you will be asked to complete a guest verification process after booking.
You will receive an email and a text with a link to complete the verification. This process is completed by a third party company called Truvi. We do not see any of your private information.
Truvi will collect a non-refundable credit card authorization fee of $10. This allows them to collect reimbursement if damage is discovered after your stay, without having to actually hold a damage deposit.
Please be sure to complete this process WITHIN 24 HOURS of making your reservation. If the verification process is not completed, we cannot legally host you and we will be forced to cancel your reservation, potentially without a refund.
