Gros cafouillages dans les réservations. Propreté zéro, respect des règles sanitaires zéro, personnel désagréables, petit dejeuner horrible . Hôtel qui ne vaut même pas une étoile. Seul la position géographique par rapport a la plage est intéressante bien qu il n y est pas de parking.

My husband & myself had an enjoyable stay at the Royal. The bed was very comfy.
Relatively clean,although the windows were dirty,webs & hadn’t been cleaned for a while. It’s a lovely place but think it needs some tlc. The staircase is amazing. 😊

Beautiful hotel you can see it is a work in pregress staff lovely bathroom needs some tlc and the window but the view made up for for this. Overall lovely relaxing stay in room 305.

My wife is a Cleaning checker and found multiple issues with cleanliness of room. Traffic cones on the landing were a newby too. Absence of carpet grippers in lounge making carpet edges look threadbare. Some areas of hotel in need of decoration as well.

OLD AND RUN DOWN ROOM WE STAYED IN AND THE WINDOW AND LOFT HATCH WERE VERY NOISY.
THE CUPS LEFT IN OUR ROOM WERE QUITE DIRTY IT WAS VERY DISAPPOINTING TO SAY THE LEAST

In the main my stay was fine. I spent very little time in the hotel and did not use any of the facilities. I was extremely disappointed this morning to find the there was no soap to wash with at the sink. I had to go to the bath/shower and get some gel from the container on the wall. A big let down fro what was an OK stay.

Very convenient for central Scarborough, South Bay and the Spa. Parking is a little tricky although there is a multi-storey up the road for £12 a day. The hotel itself was grand although in need of a little TLC - renovations were ongoing while we were there. The room was similar - comfortable and spacious but with a few things in need of repair.

The hotel is in the middle of much needed renovations. However that meant that our corridor had no carpet only mdf and bits kept being walked into our bedroom.
Also the stairs were out of action which meant waiting ages for a lift even though they have two.
Our room had outdated furniture and was very ‘tired’. The balcony door didn’t open and shut properly so fresh air was an issue, we couldn’t open the door fully as our little dog could have got out and wasn’t safe.
We couldn’t fault the friendliness of the staff who were always willing to help.

A very tired room with poor maintenance. For cost there is better more local. Only plus side is that for venue we were attending this was very close. Breakfast was very low value again for cost paid better available elsewhere would not stop again.

Stayed 3 nights at this hotel. Had to move room as the the windows in in 212 were not able to be opened and it was very warm, luckily moved next door which was better. They are currently renovating so new carpet being laid on the landings. The bed we had was comfortable and large.Very oldy worldy style hotel so it has character. Just across the road from the beach, stairs and slopes and a tram down to beach level. Just around the corner from the shops, plenty of eating places.

I did not like Dogs could be in every room and sleep in them as I am allergic to animals which I was not told about this and it was not on the Internet I was told I had a swimmer Facilities which they did not have and overall the hotel was very dirty and rundown

Wasn’t a bad stay wasn’t great either rooms and door locks could do with updating wasn’t the cleanest either bath was dirty shower was cold states on the ad that rooms at cleaned Daily to then be told they’re not at reception only good point was reception staff/manager was a great bloke very polite,helpful and courteous even when put in a difficult position not by myself but I happened to walk past as there was someone shouting at him in regards to one of the rooms and the manager from what I saw handled it very well I couldn’t say I would have done the same like but good on him for handing it so well ! we stayed Friday 16th feb for the weekend

Great location & good views. Staff friendly & very helpful. Allowed us in early as the room was ready. Lovely room & bathroom but a little small. Very clean bedding , my friend next door said their room was far too hot even though they turned the heating off but mine was ok. Great lounge & bar.

Although the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean the rooms could do with updating a bit.
The bed was very hard and the pillows even harder.
The meals were ok but breakfast very oily.
The serving staff were excellent and the reception staff very helpful.

I love the Royal and have gone there for years. It's a great position with a lovely view from the bar. Rooms are clean and a comfy bed. A little tired ( Very minor issues). Staff are lovely. Shame that the pool has shut permanently.

Lovely old Victorian hotel
This is a lovely old hotel, a bit worn in places but the refurbished rooms are lovely. We had a problem ( no heating) in our spacious attractive bedroom- but the problem was resolved almost immediately by the smashing duty manager Adamo? The new bedroom was even more spacious & comfortable! Warm, clean, with every amenity. We have had several stays here, sometimes with our daughter’s dog! We have always been delighted

The building is rather grand with a beautiful entrance and staircase. Clean and tidy in all areas and friendly staff, but the rooms are getting tired and ready for updating. Can i also recommend a nicer coffee on the rooms 😊 but would stay again, perfectly placed for getting round town

The hotel is rundown and the staff are not helpful at all. We slept in room that has hair everywhere and damp ceiling. We have ask for a new room but gave us even small and dirty room. Fridge and heating is not working. It not worth the money at all.
