Located beach front on beautiful Longboat Key, this resort offers all the amenities of a large hotel with the privacy and seclusion that has Silver Sands guests returning each year. Relax on our private beach, walk on our soft white sand, take a dip in our heated beachside pool, or enjoy a complimentary chaise lounge and beach umbrella while breathing in the fresh salt-water air. Practice your golf game on our putting green or relax on our beautiful beach with your favorite novel. Wireless Internet access is available in the privacy of your individual unit, at the garden area or on the pool deck.



    Limited Membership Privileges: Guests of Silver Sands Gulf Beach Resort #257 will have temporary membership privileges at Cedars Tennis Resort located at 645 Cedars Court on Longboat Key. The limited temporary membership allows the guest access to fully-lit Har-Tru tennis and pickleball courts (after 1 p.m. daily and subject to availability), community bicycles, fishing pier and Jr. Olympic heated swimming pool. The guest will also have access to the community fitness center.

We loved this unit at Silver Sands and will book again. The only complaint we had was that there was a need for new pillows.

Blown away at location and amenities! Spent 20 yrs renting on AMI, no more......this is what AMI used to be. Laid back, family oriented. Brittany checked us in and was soo very friendly. Room was great, rented for myself, spouse, and 2 adult children and we had plenty of room. Only thing that was disconcerting was the adjoining room.......we heard EVERYTHING coming from under the door which connects to the bedrooms. We will book again, but stuff towels under that door to help with the noise.

Overall awesome vibes. Really smooth and easy check in process. AMAZING private beach access. Loved the pool space - it was super clean and family friendly. There were only two drawbacks. 1.) The pull out couch feels like it needs an upgraded mattress. The bar was poking through and really uncomfortable. Ended up just sleeping on top of the couch, which was fine. 2.) The place needed a good deep cleaning. Overall it felt "beach clean", like we weren't grossed out by any means... BUT there were a lot of dust bunnies around the base boards, cobwebs in the corners, and bathroom could have been bleached down. Overall those negative didn't detract too much from our stay, but I think those minor tweak would take this from a 4.5 to a true 5 plus star experience. Thanks, would come back!

Weekend Getaway

The resort is not overly huge which makes for a less crowded and enjoyable time. Room was clean and we were just a stones throw from the beach. We would definitely go back!

Great little spot!

This was a good little condo. The access to the pool and beach was fantastic. The pool is nothing fancy, but good for my kids because it was never too busy. The fridge had rust on the side but was clean inside. We enjoyed this spot!

A hidden gem

Super low key quiet place. Beach was beautiful and not crowded and goes for miles. The pool was warm and plenty of lounge chairs. Accommodations were clean and comfortable. The staff was very accommodating We will be back!!

Water was beautiful aqua color and beach and condo very nice. Sunsets were awesome !! Staff was great with any help needed.

Lovely area

Place was very nice. Unfortunately, the red tide made it uncomfortable. Beach looked beautiful which is where we wanted to be but because of dead fish and terrible odor we were not able to sit in beach or walk on beach. Thank goodness for rec facility about half a mile away. We were able to enjoy that pool.

Not the best stay

Already had submitted my review but to summarize the AC unit stopped cooling the night before we were checking out and the sofa bed needs replacing. It's in very bad shape and impossible to sleep in.

Location, location, location! Perfect sized complex (2 stories but no elevator), great pool, steps from the beach that is equipped with beach chairs. Parking was easy and never an issue. Units come with multiple beach towels so we didn’t have to pack them. Carts available to help load and unload. Our unit was OK. Size is fine for 2 people. Appreciated the updated appliances but the bathroom really needs to be updated as there is some mold on the tiles. We did see a large but dead cockroach a few days in by the bathroom. It would have been nice to have a luggage rack in a closet. The bed was pretty firm but not bad if you’re used to that. The couch was pretty comfy and long. We didn’t mind having a shared door to the unit next to us, which stayed locked, but it is not sound proof AT ALL. We heard every cough, conversation, phone noise, etc the entire time which kept us awake at times. Not ideal. The screened in porch overlooking the pool and partial ocean view was great as I worked remote from there for two days. Wifi worked well in room. The pool is big, goes to 8.5ft deep and is heated which was really nice. Overall the grounds were never really crowded. Definitely an older crowd. Lots of great restaurants in both directions. So many shells on the beach plus soft white powdery sand. Really enjoyed being close to Lido Key, Bradenton and Anna Maria. We will be back and try another unit with 2 bedrooms.

Quiet Retreat

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband, 11 year old son, and I stayed for for 4 nights here and we enjoyed ourselves. It's much more quiet than Destin, FL and a very private beach. The pool is pretty small but because we went in early May, it was not crowded the whole time we were there. The condo is much smaller than the one we usually stay in, but it was okay. The balcony was great because we had a view of the pool AND the beach! Our main complaint would be the extremely uncomfortable bed and the couch bed could not be slept on. It was like sleeping on the floor. Also, while a screen keeps the bugs out on the balcony, it also distorts the view. The walls are paper thin as well as we were in a unit that connected to another room with a door separating us. We could literally hear the woman's entire conversation when she was on the phone. Once she checked out on day 2, it was better! All in all, a nice place to stay. Private, low key and clean. Would probably stay again but maybe in a bigger unit with a little privacy and 2 bathrooms.

One Week of Paradise

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We attended a wedding on Longboat Key, so we spent a full week at Silver Sands #257. The orange building is a bit hard to find. There are no elevators, so carrying heavy luggage upstairs can be challenging. The unit is entered thru the master bedroom, and with the blinds open and lights on, the room is dark to apply makeup. There is a spacious closet and plenty of drawers. We went grocery shopping, because there is a full kitchen. They provided enough dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels and cooking supplies. It was hard to find local TV channels with the Romulo. We really enjoyed the beach. There is a view from the bedroom and the living room with a beautiful screened in deck. We ate lunch out there. We required one repair, and it was handled Immediately. The iron was cracked, so they provided us with a new one. We enjoyed the lounge chairs on the beach, but beach chairs and an umbrella that properly fits would be appreciated. The unit is closer to Bradenton Beach than Lido Key. Most of the restaurants on Longboat are very expensive, but we enjoyed them as well as The Blue Dolphin on am for breakfast. I probably would not stay on Longboat Key again, but for the price, we were very happy!

Not Gonna Blow You Away But A Solid Choice

First time vacationing to Longboat Key area. Very very happy we did! Great food, great bars/restaurants! Check out Guppy’s when you stay here!We stayed here in February of 2025 and the Red Tide situation was happening unfortunately. If you don’t know what that is, Google it. It could wreck a trip. But at Silver Sands, everything was fine! Beautiful pool and pool area with plenty of seating, tables, and umbrellas if needed. The beach area was very nice as well, and very close to the pool area and housing units. Plenty of chairs out by the beach as well! All in all the property itself was very well maintained and clean. Our unit was as advertised. Clean, well stocked with everything we needed. Comfy bed. And nice lanai overlooking the pool area. Few things to note:- Coffee pot is a Keurig so bring pods. - This unit is on the Second floor and there’s no elevator. - This unit had adjoining doors to the next door unit. Normally not a big deal but we could hear everything on the other side of the doors in the next door unit. And I’m sure they could hear us too. And by the way, the doors are in the master bedroom. - Televisions in the living area and bedroom. We never tried the tv in the bedroom but the one in the living area could use replacing. Picture and audio were fine. But there was that annoying green thin line from top to bottom across the screen telling you it’s about to die. This was a nice place for us. We would come back.
