Self Contained Gite with lovely country views

La Cure is situated at the end of a 230metre lane off a quiet country road. It is surrounded by farm land containing many mature trees and the 'bocage' or 'banks' surrounding the fields for which this area is famous. It is ideal for a couple wanting to get away from it all and unwind. It is just 10 minutes from the popular market town of Gavray with its supermarket, shops, banks and restaurants. The cathedral town of Coutances and the copperware tourist town of Villedieu les Poeles can be reached in 20 mins. Perfectly situated for days out at the Mont St Michel, St Malo, Bayeux and D-Day Beaches etc.

Good Stay

We stayed here for a week in September. Roger and Mary are considerate hosts. Communication was very good before and at arrival. The gite is well equipped and a good size. It is in a quiet location in the midst of lovely countryside that is home to picturesque towns and villages. Within striking distance of the coast directly west and north. We enjoyed our stay.

Excellent holiday in Normandy

Lovely upstairs apartment, comfortable and very well equipped, with good parking and outside seating in a separate area of garden. Close to Hambye which is a pleasant village, with one of the best boulangerie / patisseries we've ever come across. Lots of local interest. We recommend the Abbaye de Hambye close by and Coutances and the Mont St Michel not too long drives.

Arcadia ( in France!)

Wonderful gite with everything you need to live in the French countryside. Totally relaxing with comfy bed and furniture. A great base for both coasts and lovely little French towns with genuinely welcoming locals. Lots of leisurely days out in the local area - but not for party animals! The hosts were so welcoming and kind, we were totally at ease. A masterclass in how to host a gite. Thank you.

What a place

A lonely place in the middle of green and nature. A spot from where to discover this part of the earth.Trips to the world of gothic abbeys and cathedrals, beaches with great historic importance, beaches to walk along and collect what the waves carried along, water to lie in and watch the sky and the clouds moving on, moving on. And wonderful hosts! A good decision, yes.

Ruhige Ferien in schöner Umgebung

Die Ferienwohnung liegt im ersten Stock eines alten kleinen Hauses, die Gastgeber wohnen nebenan. Die Wohnung hat alles, man braucht, genug Platz für Zwei, aber nicht mehr. Garten und Gartenmöbel ergänzen das Angebot. Die Gastgeber kommen aus England, für uns sehr gut, weil wir kein Französisch sprechen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Ruhe ist phantastisch.

Great Normandy retreat

Lovely, well equipped property in a peaceful location set back from the road up a lengthy drive. Roger & Mary were the perfect hosts who were friendly & helpful yet inobtrusive. The property is very well located and acted as an excellent base to explore the surrounding area and slightly further, but more than reachable D Day beaches. The gite more than met our needs with both comfort and expectation & our hosts had created a tasteful and really well equipped home with a comfortable bed and excellent range of facilities for those wishing to cater for themselves. This included a picturesque outside seating area and private garden. We would highly recommend a stay at Roger and Mary's property and would not hesitate to book again when visiting the area in the future. Thank you both.

Rust, Gastvrij en ruimte

Simpel maar wel van alle gemakken voorzien en prima voor twee personen met eventueel hond of twee hondjes. Zeer gastvrije eigenaren die er alles aan doen om de vakantie te laten slagen. Heerlijk met de auto de omgeving verkennen en daarna weer terug te keren in de rust.

Beautiful quiet place in the middle of the countryside in la Manche

We enjoyed our stay in La Cure. Roger and Mary are very kind and helpful hosts and their gite is nice and convenient. From the gite you can visit so many lovely places within 30 minutes of driving. We loved the beaches at coutainville, Pirou and Blainville. So little tourists and mainly locals there. We had so much luck with the beautiful weather! The visit of- and walking tour around the Abbey of Hambye were very nice and so nearby. The view from the windows of the gite is stunning. All around there are fields with cows, blossoming trees and a lot of birds. Most of the day the only sounds you hear are the birds. We loved to sit in the garden and read, accompanied by Nelly, the dog. Thank you Mary and Roger! We hope to come back one day!
