This property was gorgeous...it's what we dream of having some day! It was clean, well stocked with linens, bathroom supplies, and dishes. We didn't even care that the water wasn't potable. We just took our own. We had a last-minute change of plans causing us to possibly need to take our one dog. The manager was very understanding and allowed us to pay the pet fee upon arrival in case we didn't bring the dog.The manager's communication throughout the entire time was prompt and helpful! We will be back!!
This property met all our needs for our family of 4. We had a couple hiccups, the master bed sags in the middle and is way too soft so both my husband and I had a hard time sleeping and woke up sore. Especially in a place where the draw is long physical days of hiking, a nice, firm bed would have been appreciated. There were some ants in the loft ceiling, but when we called they were quick to get out there and take care of the issue. I did not see in the listing that there is a washer/dryer so that was a nice surprise to have access to for the week. Overall, we had an excellent time and hiked every day and saw some of the most beautiful scenery one can imagine. Our favorites were Copperas Falls, Rock Bridge / Creation Falls & we did the loop to Grayâs Arch from Pinch em tight, Rush Ridge, & Rough Trail. If you have time I really liked Boone Hut Trail too! All were very doable with our dog and daughters (8 & 11).
This home was perfect for our stay! I gave a 4 star on cleanliness only because the hot tub wasnt the cleanest, but it wasnt terrible either. They arent kidding about the drive being beat with 4WD or AWD! We would absolutely stay again!
Excellent cabin in the woods. Location was fun, that drive up the road to the final hill to the cabin, loved it! (As others have said, it's steep and bumpy, but good to let the SUV do SUV things). Inside was nicely appointed, beds comfortable, and bathroom/shower nice. It was cool outside, in the 40's, so the gas heaters were nice to have, both in the bathroom and in the living room. We didn't use the stove/microwave at all, lots of nice places to eat around the area. Bring your drinking water, as the well water isn't potable. Hot tub was nice too. Overall, a great place! Also, make sure you check out the cabin's management company for savings (wink!).
The only issue was with the fire pit. It had not been cleaned out at all and all of the old ash was just so hard packed in there we were not able to have a fire and we bought all the firewood and couldn't even have a fire.
Cabin is nice and very clean but definitely no low riding vehicles. Driveway is quite tricky. Although it is all secluded i was hoping for a little more seclusion for our cabin than there is. But altogether it was a great stay, nice cabin, and relaxing place to be.
Beautiful scenery with mountains just outside your door. Lovely cabin with covered hot tub. Food and activites within just a few miles. Couldn't have asked for better location and accommodations.
We wanted to spend Halloween watching horror movies in a cabin in the woods, and that's exactly what we got. As an added bonus it's very close to many great hiking spots and the hot tub is on its own cool little deck with a beautiful view of the fall leaves.
The pictures do not lie, you do feel quite tucked away in this little rental. You can barely see it hear the neighbors beside you with minimal traffic on the road. It is a little challenging to access since it is quite steep weven with a crossover style vehicle. Outside of that, the cabin is designed well for a cozy
My teen daughter and I have gone on many road trips staying in cabins and this was one of our favorites! We love the Red River Gorge and this was a perfect place to stay and enjoy the area. Great hiking and eating nearby, including good restaurants with vegetarian options. The cabin was clean and comfortable and the hot tub was awesome after hiking. We had a great time.
The lady at the front desk was probably the nicest person I've ever met in my life. Everything was clean and worked. The area is beautiful and there's plenty to do. If you take anything away from this review, pack plenty of drinking water before you come.
Amazing trip to this beautiful cabin in the woods. Highly recommend staying here. Would recommend you have AWD or FWD to get to cabin as drive is steep.
This cabin is everything you want! Comfy beds, well-stocked kitchen, super clean & a hot tub! Everything was great & we will come back to stay! We also really loved the games & game table upstairs. The cabin is also really well-situated, not far from town or the trails. The road in is bumpy & we were thankful for my AWD getting in.
Great property. Quite. Clean. Close to tons of trails and good eats. Recommend 4wheel drive for the road to get to it. Adutls, teens, children, and dogs all loved the place!
This cabin is beautiful and it's such an idyllic location, when we first arrived, we were already in love with it. After spending a night, we wanted to stay forever. The property is gorgeous, and the cabin makes you feel as though you are at home. We will definitely be back next year, and I hope this cabin is available then.
Wanted to give a quick shout out to the property owners and say thank you for allowing us to stay there, and thank you for having such a beautiful place!

Driveway is treacherous unless you have the proper vehicle to get up to the cabin. It's a one way drive. Not sure the write up mentioned video surveillance or not - wasn't a fan of being watched 24/7. Nice cabin, clean, hot tub was great. Take a sharp knife with you - the ones they have are all dull. Ended our visit a day early because of the driveway - just became too much after a few days.
This location is quiet and beautiful. The road up is challenging. Four wheel drive is best but the location is amazing with great views right off the front porch. Bird singing every morning. Just the peace needed to restore the soul. :-)
Book it!!! Location is right in the middle of everything amazing! We stayed in the Elk Haven cabin it was the perfect size for our group of 4, you could sleep more if needed. Water is not potable (drinkable) but we knew that going in. Hot tub was great and very clean. Kids loved the games, such a great touch. We did have a fire pit outside, wood was available for purchase at check in. I would recommend 4 wheel drive to get in to the cabin area as it is up some steep gravel 1 lane roads; in my opinion this just added to the experience but I can see how that may be intimidating. There is WiFi and TV but we never used it so I canât comment on that. It was quite and very relaxing. Fishing and swimming area just 5 or so mins drive away. Underground gorge adventure also just 5 mins or so away; thatâs a do not miss! Natural Bridge and many other hiking trails all over the area.
