Nice ppl, clean hotel. Fantastic breakfast!!

I emailed & called the hotel to confirm that the shuttle I ordered would arrive at the airport! Especially because I was getting in close to midnight....& I do not speak Spanish....& w/o a phone that works in Ecuador! It became obvious the hotel did not order me one. I was left to fend for myself in a foreign County not speaking the language.....& found out the hotel was not 1/2 hr. away as told by (Expedian?) but one hour away. A taxi driver called the hotel & they sd yes it is ok to let him drive me there. Good thing I brought the Ecuadorian # for the hotel with me or who knows how long I might have been waiting for a shuttle from the hotel. Once I arrived the lady was very nice. I ask for wine & gave her a $5 bill she poured me one tall glass & took it to my room on a tray. Nice gesture...but expensive for one glass I thought. The nxt morning breakfast was amazing! & In a very sunny cute space with little round tables. I recommend these fine ladies...& their clean & cute hotel....just make sure you know how you will be getting to the hotel. Some of the taxi drivers looked a bit shady.

I don;t recommend it

The place is clean but I encountered several problems. The noise from the shower in the room next door was loud. The chair was extremely uncomfortable meaning working at my computer was difficult. The owner was extremely rude. She told me not to get drunk, even though I do not drink. She accused me of exercising loudly outside in the middle of the night even though I was asleep all night. She lied in the morning and told me at 9am that checkout was at 10am, and denied that the hotel website says checkout is at 1pm, which it does. I don't like that she makes me leave my key in a box on her desk before leaving as that invites theft; I would much rather keep possession of my own key. When I said I don't eat eggs at breakfast she got mad at me even though I said it was not a problem if they didn't have a substitute. So if you like a high stress and low privacy place, this is for you; otherwise find somewhere else to stay.

Lovely little hotel!

This is a wonderful little hotel in a safe neighborhood. The hostess is an extremely friendly and helpful lady who makes you feel at home. The breakfast is delicious! The rooms are clean and modern. Highly recommend staying here!

Good Location. Walking Distance to Mariscal

Small hostel in a quiet neighborhood. Mercedes is great! She will make sure your stay is comfortable and is great at giving you tips about Quito. The hostel is about a 10-15 minute walk to the Mariscal. It's in a safe neighborhood.

nice place, but service can be improved

I loved the place at first, and Mercedes (the owner's sister and the main person behind the desk) is super nice and helpful with decent English. The only thing that tainted my experience was when I returned with my father and we decided to share a room the first night she chrged us each the price of a full room! She never said anything about that when we arrived or we would have at least stayed in our own rooms. Also breakfast when I returned with my dad was VERY meager (one little bean taco and juice), which is not what I was served the first time I came. When I asked her to please have a bit more food the next day she said she's only obligated to give a basic breakfast - she wouldn't even get a few extra pieces of bread! That's not right for the price we paid. Overall, though, the place is nice, comfortable and clean.

Un pequeño hostal muy bien situado

Muy bien situado en la ciudad. Ambiente de orden y limpieza. habitación con mucha luz y color apropiado para el descanso. Los colchones son excelentes.El baño bien dispuesto y aseado. El personal, que es mínimo, es muy gentil y dispuesto a colaborar

Achtung

Der Preis entsprach absolut nicht den Erwartungen. Sehr ringhoerig, man kann genau hören was der Nachbar macht und die Zimmer sind klein. Die Chefin ist nur auf Geld aus. Leider haben wir für eine Woche gebucht und konnten nicht früher gehen.

Home away from home

I had an absolutely lovely stay at Casa Valladolid. The area is a quiet residential neighbourhood but just 1 min walk away there is a mini market and a cute restaurant and 5 mins away you can find a huge supermarket, ATMs and a selection of good restaurants. The hotel itself is well decorated, very quiet so you get a good night's sleep but the strongest point is by far lovely Mercedes. She made the stay at this hotel feel like at home and I wish I had words to describe how grateful I am that she was there because it does really make a difference to have somebody who genuinely cares about their guests. She would go out of her way to help me with a few of my queries too. Apart from the outstanding Mercedes, the hotel is only 10-15 mins walk from La Mariscal or less than $2 by taxi. Also very close to one of the metrobuses of Quito.

Todo estuvo excelente. La atención de la Sra. Mercedes fue estupenda. El desayuno diario muy sabroso. La habitación muy cómoda con su baño privado y la limpieza diaria excelente. Lo recomiendo ampliamente y con toda seguridad me volvería a hospedar en la Casa Valladolid.

Great Hotel with wonderful staff

I chose this hotel for my first two nights in Quito based on other reviews and I wasn't disappointed. The room was very comfortable and quiet, which is what I was heading for. The staff was super friendly and super helpful as well. The neighborhood felt safe.

Dada la situacion planteada, no pudimos quedadrnos en el hostal. Nos cobraron la penalidad y nos fuimos. a las 12 de la noche a buscar hoteles por la zona. ya que no teniamos posiblidades de comunicarnos con hoteles.com.

ESte hostal es una estafa,

Este hostal es una mentira, sus fotos no responden a la realidad. Es una casita y en la foto se ve un edificio. Las fotos de las inmediaciones no son reales.ni tampoco los comentarios. Esta en una zona desolada . De noche no se puede salir. .. No pudimos hospedarnos, llegamos a las 10 pm . Nos quisimos ir apenas vimos que no era lo que reservamos, La mujer muy molesta porque nos quieriamos ir y al entenderlo mostrandole las fotos del hotel, reconocio que no sabia que habia pasado, que ellos no publicaron esas fotos truchas y despues acepto cobrar una noche de estadia para que nos puderamos ir. Tuvimos que pagar esa noche y buscar un taxi e ir hotel por hotel para poder dormir. Tuvimos una perdia ya que tuvimos que pagar otro hotel. y ademas pagarle con otra tarjeta, la noche que pretendia. aunque aceptaba los errores. y nuestras quejas. Pregunto quien controla estas estafas en ecuador ya que nunca nos paso y somos toda mi flia clientes de hoteles punto com desde hace muhisimos anos. . Hicimos la queja, pero no nos atendieron bien ademas la queja la pudimos hacer despues de conseguir hotel y ya eran como las 3 am del dia posterior a nuesra llegada. . espero una comunicacion y un reconocimiento de uds. y tambien espero que esas gente no nos cobre ya que tienen nuestros datos y la tarjeta toda la reserva de 3 noches por dos habitaciones... La mujer dijo que solamente se cobraria una noche , pero ante lo sucedido se me presenan dudas. que espero que uds me las solucionen.

comfortable, quiet hotel

Very charming hotel in a quiet yet centrally located neighborhood. Breakfast was great and the hotel staff eager to help you with your travel needs. Rooms were clean and contained satellite tv. The only negative point is that the staff closes the hotel doors late at night and it is necessary to ring a bell in order to gain admittance. However, if you're ok with that, then the rest of the stay is wonderful indeed.

Hospedaje pésimo

Solo puedo decir que pésima atención ya que al llegar al hotel me comentan que ya no tienen disponible habitaciones, y una hora antes de llegar me envían un correo de CONFIRMACIÓN DE MI HABITACIÓN. Lo único con lo que pudieron ayudar es con otra hostal. Solo puedo decir QUE PÉSIMA ATENCIÓN Y ADMINISTRACIÓN
