We had a wonderful stay! The home was excellent for our family with little ones. The pool and proximity to the beach made it so easy to pop back for lunch or naps. The elevator was also a huge convenience for getting things in and out.Our only recommendation would be to add another side rail to the top bunk in the 3rd-floor bunk room. I’m sure older kids or teens have no problem, but for younger ones it would provide extra peace of mind. An awesome future upgrade for families who want everyone close to the master bedroom would be 2 sets of built-in bunks in that room.Overall, an amazing stay — we will absolutely come back!

Our family recently stayed at Rocco’s Retreat. Overall, it was a spacious & private getaway that met our needs well. The location was stunning, sunsets were absolutely breathtaking, & the views from the property were serene. We enjoyed the sense of luxury, the open layout, & that it easily accommodated our whole family. Outdoor water sources made for easy rinsing. Check-in was smooth. The kitchen had a good selection of cookware & utensils, though we did find that some pots & pans needed extra scrubbing before use, likely from previous guests (part of checkout).While the property itself was beautiful, we did encounter some maintenance issues in the master bathroom. The toilet was loose/rocked each time it was used, the drain was clogged, & the bathtub was dirty, did not plug, & none of the features worked. Maintenance was responsive in bringing a new plug/clearing the sink drain, but we were told the toilet could not be fixed until after our stay. Thankfully, with just our family, we could share the other restrooms.One thing to note is that the maintenance person arrived without prior notice the first time. On subsequent visits only gave a 5–10 minute heads-up. We were told he was the only maintenance person working, which may explain the delays.Despite these inconveniences, the peaceful location, privacy, & amenities like the pool, & beautiful views made it a relaxing stay. With a few updates & more attention to cleanliness, Rocco Retreat could be truly exceptional.

Guessing someone dumped or drained dirty water after a stay and didn’t scrub out tub? Disappointed by the lack of functionality of tub. Maintenance did respond to plug during out stay.

Outdoor seating was a nice accommodation. Great place for meals, games, reading, and more. Screened in prevent many bugs, creatures, and some weather. Sturdy furniture.

Beginning of August. Quality sunset pictures were between 8:00-8:30.

Outstanding management

Great communication with property management. Immediately solved issues with getting into the house after a planned late arrival and plumbing issues were fixed by Monday morning. Essentially private beach with beautiful water and sand and full of wildlife and shells. Fire pit was great with comfortable chairs and pool was perfect and refreshing. Great water views from every room. Great working kitchen and grill and we prepared delicious fresh seafood from the local market. Port St Joe restaurants were very crowded with long wait times. Beds were a little soft but comfortable and every room had a nice bathroom. Did not prefer the open shower in the master though. Air conditioning is ice cold and water pressure throughout the home was adequate. Great TVs in every room with YouTube TV. Elevator worked perfectly and was a huge bonus! Tons of parking space with easy access to elevator. Huge porch with sitting and eating areas while listening to the waves. Home is in between two other water front homes without pools which made the pool area more private. Overall very quiet and relaxing stay. We would stay here again.

Spring Break Getaway

This home was absolutely beautiful and comfortable to stay in. The elevator was very helpful, especially for one of my kiddos recovering from knee surgery. Rocco’s Retreat offers the perfect location into town as well as the priceless views.

Perfect wknd getaway!

Booking, check-in, communication, arrival and checkout all flawless. Bikes were delivered to the home before we arrived and were a great addition for morning & nightly rides. Recommend the boardwalk trail to the marsh on the bike ride! House was just as described, absolutely breathtaking views, perfect separate areas to sit and relax. Screened in porch was perfect for Bfast, lunch and relaxing at nights!! We didn’t use the fire pit but it’s a great addition. BBQ down the street was excellent! Port St Joe for lunch at Peppers. Dinner at Brickwall. Both had great food & service. If you want a true Florida get away to relax this is the place for you!!

Amazing home

Great property! Location was great, close to the beach. Home and kitchen well stocked with all your needs. Check in says 4, but management says 4-5:30, and they text you when it is ready. Ours was ready by 4:15. Check in process and check out was great.

First time at Cape San Blad

House was amazing. The location was convenient to Port St Joe where we had several good meals. The beach was beautiful. It was too cold to enjoy the pool but it was the perfect size and very clean. I would recommend this house unreservedly.

Family Getaway

Overall the property was great. However a patio dining table and chairs would have suited us a little better than just lounge chairs as we could have had meals and played cards on the patio if that had been there. We did have one issue with the 3rd level not being screened in as a Bat entered one of the rooms when a door was left open for a brief period. Luckily we were able to get it out rather easily but he was a frequent visitor to that 3rd floor balcony throughout the rest of the stay.

Great house with management problems.

We really enjoyed the house, but our visit was marred by management failings that were, in our opinion, not addressed well. Our party was my wife and me and our two elderly (80 and 92) mothers. I called the management company, Coastal Joe, at around 10am on our check in day. They told me that we could arrive any time, the house was ready. However, when we arrived around 5, the house had not been cleaned since the last guest had left. Beds were unmade, linens were dirty, dishes unwashed, fridge dirty, etc. The office was closed so we called the after hours line, and were told that they would contact housekeeping and get right back to us. After 20 minutes of no word, we tried calling back only to get voicemail...frustrating. With the house dirty, we had not unloaded our luggage or the food we had bought. Finally, after about 45 minutes, we got a text saying that housekeeping was on the way. We had intended to eat in that night, but decided to change plans and find dinner out. We arrived back around 8, right after the cleaners had left. The extra activity had exhausted the elderly moms, and we still had to unpack and unload the food that had been sitting in the hot car for hours. So, the problem was addressed, but we felt that the managers should have been more communicative as they searched for a housekeeping crew instead of letting us sit and wonder. Coastal Joe offered us a $100 credit for our trouble, which they never provided, and which I thought was insufficient. Our second problem had to do with pool heat. I notified Coastal Joe that we would like the pool to be heated 5 days before our arrival, knowing that it takes a while for a pool to heat up. When we got to the house, the pool was cold, and it was after noon the next day before the pool heater was turned on. It took the rest of the day for the pool to heat, so we lost a day and a half of swim time. To their credit, Coastal Joe did not charge us their normal $300 for pool heat, but we felt that the heater should have been turned on before our arrival. On checkout day, I dropped by the office to discuss the issues we had and request some amount of credit back for our trouble. I spoke to Scott, who did not have the authority to do anything, but he assured me that the lady who did was aware of our situation and would reach out to me in a day or two. That never happened. I sent two emails to Coastal Joe after we returned home, both were ignored. Great house, bad management

Fabulous retreat

Rocco’s house is gorgeous, excellent views and beach accessibility. Heated pool right in front of house with beach view too. Fire ring with seating. Kitchen well stocked with pots and pans and utensils. Couldn’t ask for a more relaxed home and setting! Highly recommend.

New Favorite Spot

We loved our time at this property! It was perfect for our whole family (10 of us total- with kids ages 8, 5, 3 and 1). The location was great and the beach was beautiful! We are looking forward to coming back soon!

Beautiful Home on Beautiful Beach

This property is beautiful and looks even better in person. The only thing I would say, is if you want to bake, the oven is very small so bring some small aluminium pans. Also, this property has a lot of driving on the beach traffic. I think being further up on the Cape will give you a better experience if you want to experience the quiet pristine white sand experience.

Fabulous home!

Rocco's Retreat is an absolute gem. This is a new property so everything is extremely new with no cosmetic needs. The entire home is upgraded (appliances, windows, floors, bathrooms and so on......... A lot of thought and love have gone into making this an amazing home. Frankly, I'm shocked it's on a rental program since it's so nice. Everything you could possibly need is provided. The home gets a 10 out of 10!!!! The only "cons" which really didn't bother our group would be the lack of restaurants/grocery stores within a 10-minute drive, and the home next door being run down and trash all around the outside. This is out of the Owner's control as this property is beautifully kept. We chose this area knowing there weren't many commercial areas very close and wanted a more upscale home on the beach. Would definitely recommend this home and we'll plan on returning in the near future. Rocco's Retreat is amazing!! To the Owners, thank you for sharing your beautiful home.
