My whole family and I had the best Christmas break in Port Douglas. The bach had everything we needed, from beds, to enough space and amenities. Fishing off the wharf and swimming at Sandy Bay will be longtime memories for my children. Thank you, Jan.

Beautiful setting by the water, with a great deck to enjoy the views. Comfortable beds, nicely decorated and equipped with everything you need. Short drive to Sandy bay and the wharf. Definitely a great place to go and switch off.

A great beach front location and a well equiped property for a relaxing stay. The modern renovations to this traditional looking beach Bach were great for a cosy stay. The kitchen was well equiped with everything we needed. A few games and a variety of books were provided and were great for a rainy day

Amazing / comfy / great location / inviting house. Everything you need and all the little extras that make it that much better. Awesome spot. Caught heaps of fish. Would recommend and stay again! Jan was great to deal with, made it easy.

Lovely Bach. Very calm setting, beautiful view.

Everything in the house was perfect and we thought tastefully decorated.

We had an issue with the toilet flush on the 2nd day and weren't able to fix it during our stay. Its not representative of the fittings in the house which were all working, and the BBQ was brand new!

Thanks for letting us know about the issue with the toilets water system. Its was easily resolved and we think a) the storm may have disconnected the flow of water from the stream or b) the tap in the pump shed (clearly labelled) which controls the water from spring to the header tank was turned off. People have done this in the past.. Neighbour checked and quickly resolved. All the very best for 2018 - I am glad you enjoyed your holiday .. appreciate your feedback.

Very peaceful retreat. Excellent facilities including fridge and freezer, new Weber barbecue and nice comfortable beds. Had a "bachy" feeling but that enhances its charm and suited us fine.. Plenty of natural wildlife such as resident wekas and ducks, as well as oystercatchers as the tide receded. Plenty to do and see in the local area. Nice coffee at Tangiaro Kiwi Retreat. We loved the bach and its location..

Lovely classic bach in very quite and peaceful location. Suits family or couple that want to get away from the crowds. Great for bird watchers in the surrounding estuary and wetlands (lots of shorebirds, family of banded rail at the front steps).

Lovely Bach. very comfortable. Beds are all comfortable with great pillows. Nice interior with plenty of seating. Clean and upgraded kitchen and bathroom and nice interior throughout. Lovely location. The beach is tidal. Gorgeous view from the house which is sunny and cosy warm. Close to Sandy bay, Little Sandy bay and Stony bay. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Small comfortable Bach in close driving distance to beautiful beaches. Be warned that the bay out front is largely mud flats and you may sink if you venture forth at low tide! BYO screens for small children.

Thanks for your feedback S. The bach is at the long end of the bay and so there is a greater distance between tides as they go in and out. Tweets Retreat is situated across the road from the estuary end of the beach, and there's great bird life, white baiting (in season) etc. Great swimming, surfing and diving in the area.... fabulous place to use as a base. The bach is very typical of a 1960s style and so there are mesh fly/mossie screens in the three bedrooms. Insect repellent good idea

Love this place, its so peaceful.

The birdlife and view up the harbour is something else. I think we heard Kiwi's calling from the hills this time too. Stay here! The bach is so well kitted out, everything you could require is here. Plus, heating and super comfy beds. It's well worth the drive
