Welcome to Desert Rose, a historic Spanish-style hacienda in Tempe where timeless Southwest architecture meets spacious resort-style living. Known locally as "The Pink House," this distinctive 5-bedroom, 4-bath estate blends authentic historic craftsmanship with modern comfort, creating a stay that feels both memorable and welcoming. From the hand-carved beams reclaimed from a historic Tucson church to the clay roof tiles salvaged from a celebrated Phoenix estate, the home carries a deep sense of Arizona heritage while offering the space and amenities today's travelers expect, including high-speed WiFi, in-home laundry, and a private backyard built for outdoor entertaining.

Living:

The layout invites guests to explore, from the dedicated game room with billiards and a large smart TV to cozy lounge spaces designed for conversation and relaxation. A striking Papago Mountain mural by local artist Melody Smith anchors one of the home's most photogenic spaces, paired with an oversized antique mirror that captures the warm desert light. Nearby, a comfortable seating area with a smart TV and classic board games offers the perfect place to unwind after a day exploring the city. For quieter moments, a tucked-away library nook with a hanging chair creates a peaceful corner to relax with a book. Reliable WiFi throughout the home keeps everyone connected, whether you're streaming a movie or catching up on work.

Kitchen/Dining:

At the heart of the home sits the distinctive pink gourmet kitchen, equal parts charming and functional. Outfitted with modern appliances and anchored by a rustic brick fireplace, the space feels welcoming and social, complete with a fully stocked coffee and tea bar for slow mornings before the day begins. A formal dining table for twelve provides the perfect gathering place for shared meals and celebrations. Prefer to cook outside? The backyard BBQ grill makes it easy to bring the meal to the Cantina.

Bedroom 1 (ground level): King suite with direct patio access, a walk-in closet, a cozy reading nook, and an en suite bathroom with a shower.
Bedroom 2 (2nd floor): King suite with access to the covered balcony and an en suite bathroom with a sauna and shower.
Bedroom 3 (2nd floor): Queen bedroom with access to a shared bathroom with a shower.
Bedroom 4 (2nd floor): Twin over full bunk bed with access to a shared bathroom with a shower.
Bedroom 5 (2nd floor): Suite with two queen beds, balcony access, and an en suite bathroom with a tub/shower combo, ideal for guests who love a soak.

Laundry: A washer and dryer are available on-site, so longer stays and active groups can pack lighter and stay fresh.

Parking: 2-car garage and 2 cars in the driveway (no street parking, please).

Private Backyard:

Step outside and the grounds unfold into a peaceful garden retreat. Mature citrus trees, fragrant herbs, and manicured lawns surround the property, creating a lush and inviting setting rarely found this close to the city. At the center of it all is the gated diving pool, framed by a blooming rose garden that gives the home its name. Pool heating is available as an optional add-on (see Pool Details).

Outdoor living is just as thoughtfully designed as the interiors, with plenty of seating for the whole group. The Desert Rose Cantina creates a charming setting for al fresco dining beneath string lights beside a tiered Spanish fountain, with a dining table and outdoor seating for shared meals under the stars. The oversized wood-burning fireplace invites everyone to gather together once the sun sets. A separate sports patio offers a 70-inch outdoor TV, ping pong table, and pub seating, perfect for catching the game or enjoying drinks with friends. The BBQ grill is ready for everything from weekend burgers to a full backyard feast.

Safety fence surrounds the pool area.
Pool heat is optional and requires a $200/night Pool Heat Fee with a 3-night minimum.

Good to Know

* No Parties or Events: Please respect the property occupancy and parking limits.
* Security Cameras/Noise Sensor: Ring cameras at the front door, over the garage, and at the backyard RV gate monitor occupancy and emergency situations only. A Minut noise alert system helps ensure neighborhood noise levels are respected. It does NOT record sounds or conversations; it only measures noise level in decibels.
* Pet Policy: Dogs are not typically permitted, but please inquire if you'd like to request an exception. If an exception is granted, or a pet is found to have been present during your stay, a non-refundable $175 pet fee will be charged to cover additional cleaning.
* Pool Equipment: The automatic pool cleaner must stay connected and in the water. If it is disconnected or removed, the pump motor will malfunction and require an in-person technician reset, and a $500 fee will be charged.
