This is the very first time I have left an unhappy review for a rental property. We did not receive an entry code until we reached the property after 10pm. We have rented many vacation homes and we always receive access information, as well as, check in/check out instructions in advance of our arrival. I emailed the host 3 times during our journey to Pensacola. We finally found a phone number in small print on VRBO’s website. We had to reach the host, via the website page and then wait for a response. Once we finally received a response, we were given a code that didn’t work! The host finally reprogrammed the lock with a new code for us. We stood in the dark quite a long time, trying to get in the house! Our son and daughter-in-law’s bed was clearly broken on the sideboard! How could housekeeping miss that?? The bed would not support the mattress. They would have seen the broken bed when they changed the linens. So, that made us a bed short. The room we stayed in had no bath soap. My husband had to find a grocery store for that. Lots of scuff marks up and down the staircase walls. No porch light on. The way this property is accessed-on a dark side of the building- we were all using our cell phone flashlights to find our way. Overall, I expected better. At least the amount of beds provided that are advertised! The property is on a VERY busy street! The host can’t control that, I realize. Everything else is an “attention to detail” easy fix. Won’t stay here again.
