INTERIOR

Step through the breeze-block courtyard and into a sunlit gallery hall, where skylights pour in desert light and warm wood beams set a retro-chic tone. The living room is made for gathering. Sink into the plush purple velvet sofas under a sculptural statement chandelier, and when the desert evening cools off, pile in for movie night on the wall-mounted TV. (The fireplace is decorative only and does not work.)

The home chef in your group is going to love this kitchen. A sprawling marble island gives you plenty of room to prep, and the bar seating keeps friends close with a glass of wine while dinner comes together. A double-size built-in refrigerator and double wall ovens mean cooking for a crowd is easy. When it's time to eat, everyone gathers at the long dining table lined with bright pink chairs, with glass walls framing big desert mountain views. The kids and grandkids get a space of their own too: a dedicated playroom stocked with arts and crafts supplies and outdoor toys.

SLEEPING QUARTERS

The home features four bedrooms on each wing, offering privacy and comfort. The primary suite is a private retreat, with a king bed, a ceiling fan, a TV and a sitting area lined with built-in shelving where you can enjoy your morning coffee in peace. Its spa-like ensuite bathroom has a deep soaking tub for a long evening soak, a walk-in shower, and bold designer tile. The second bedroom has a king bed and playful red, white, and blue décor, and shares a hallway bath with the 2nd guest bedroom, which features a king bed and a small private patio with ample natural light. The fourth bedroom has two full beds, making it a favorite with kids or friends traveling together. This room features an en suite bath with a walk-in shower.

OUTDOOR SPACES

The backyard is where this home really shines, and it's where you'll spend most of your stay. Start your morning with a swim in the sparkling pool, then stretch out on the sun shelf with a cold drink in hand. Pink-and-white striped umbrellas shade a row of chaise lounges, perfect for reading and napping in the sun. When you're ready to unwind, slip into the private spa tucked into its own corner of the yard, surrounded by blooming bougainvillea. The grassy lawn, with yellow umbrellas and retro lawn chairs, is an ideal spot for afternoon sun. When it's time to eat, fire up the built-in gas grill and serve dinner at the shaded patio table. For something special, carry drinks up to the raised deck and dine above the pool. Friendly competition is never far away. Challenge the group to a putting contest on the private putting green, or start a game of hoops on the full sport court. As the sun sets, the landscape lighting comes to life across the yard and the mountains fade from gold to pink, a perfect backdrop for one more drink outside.

THINGS TO DO

Shadow Mountain sits just south of El Paseo, so you're only minutes from the desert's most celebrated stretch of designer boutiques, art galleries and fine dining. Early risers can tackle the nearby Bump and Grind Trail for sweeping sunrise views over the valley. The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens is a short drive away and makes a memorable morning with kids. Civic Center Park is close by for picnics, playgrounds and weekend events.

PET-FRIENDLY POLICY

We’re delighted to welcome your four-legged family members at select properties! To help ensure a comfortable experience for all of our guests, neighbors, and homeowners, please review the following guidelines. An additional nonrefundable fee applies for pets. One dog per reservation is permitted unless additional pets are approved in advance. Dogs must be under 35 pounds and at least 12 months old, unless an exception is approved in writing by the property owner. Due to insurance requirements, certain breeds and mixes may not be permitted, including Pit Bull/Pit Bull-type breeds, Rottweilers, German Shepherds, Doberman Pinschers, Bullmastiffs, Boxers, and similar restricted breeds. Any exception must be approved in writing before arrival. Please do not bring a pet that does not meet these guidelines without prior approval. Guests are responsible for their pets throughout their stay and for any damage, excessive cleaning, odor removal, or other pet-related costs. Pets should be well supervised and may not be left unattended when doing so could result in property damage, excessive barking, or disturbance to neighbors. Pet requirements may vary by property based on homeowner preferences and insurance requirements.
