'This property and guest house was the perfect retreat for our trip while exploring the Hilo side of the island. Everything exceeded our expectations. The house was immaculate and spacious. Jeff and Jennifer were very kind and accommodating hosts. They made sure the guest house was fully stocked with kitchen supplies, sunscreen, beach chairs and coolers, and laundry detergent. We wish we could've stayed longer!'

'Needed a respite from the insanity of life and the world and found it at Hale Hapu'u. The images are nothing compared to the reality of the house and the surrounding garden. The most beautiful and peaceful place we have ever stayed at and looking forward to staying at again. The house and grounds are immaculate and Scott has built a true homage to Hawai'i and the culture. The Hale Hapu'u is clean and comfortable and the outdoor "spa" tub was perfect! 'We did two nights just across the street from the amazing Kehena black sand beach. Cottage is comfortable for two, and we appreciated the AC in the bedroom. Will definitely be coming back again and again. Other folks mentioned the naturist aspect of the beach, and although true, that didn’t bother us in the least. Truly one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen. The climb down is a bit daunting the first time, but no big deal once we got the hang of it.'

'After staying in several VRBOs near enough to the highway to hear it 24/7, it was nice to get away to a quiet location (except for the young gals in kitty-corner house that partied all night but it didn't keep us up much; in our sixties, we have to admire their stamina). Comfortable bed, nice to have a private back porch and back yard with some decorations. Not far south to Pahoa with interesting food, shops, and people. 'This was the most gorgeous cabin! Lots of natural light with many, many windows and skylights. The cabin was filled with everything you could possibly need including sunscreen, toiletries, condiments, ice, and lots of extras! Also the hostess is the nicest lady! Highly recommend!'

'Great central local position on a great quiet street. Bit warm downstairs as we couldn’t turn the fan on but have the light off at bedtime for the kids. Close to airport, shopping and places to eat. Place was very spacious. '
