Beautiful Get-away - Ocala National Forest @ Salt Springs Resort- Loaner kayaks!

Come and stay in our Vacation spot while we are away! Cook some dinner on our stainless steel propane grill and head out to Little Lake Kerr to explore in our two sit in style kayaks or canoe at no additional cost for a limited time!

My favorite place to be at sunset, is out on or by the lake with the most beautiful, vibrant sunsets ever! Sometimes we like to roast our marshmallows and hotdogs while enjoying the sunset too! In addition to our fire pit, there is nice communal fire pit area with bench swings near the north end of the shoreline for that exceptional sunset view!

Our Florida home away from home, is nestled in the heart of The Ocala National forest! Talk about back to nature! Enjoy the ATV trails or swim at the "Healing Springs" just across the street from Salt Springs Resort, where our home away from home is! Enjoy the wildlife as you explore the area! Salt Springs Resort is a fully secured, gated resort in Salt Springs, Florida.

We are in a convenient area, with a couple of restaurants, a post office, laundry mat, and Dollar General within walking distance!

Our home sleeps 4 comfortably or up to 6 with use of our air-mattresses or cots. Sleep in our cozy memory foam topped - Queen bed in the master bedroom! We also have a full size, latex memory foam pullout sleeper in the living room!

We are located right next to an 8 unit bath house, so no worries if someone is using the bathroom! Just head next door and there is bound to be a free one!

We have a small washer/dryer combo right inside if you need to wash or dry a few items.

Feel like just hanging out at the resort? Check out "The Lodge" where there is always fun to be had! There are special events scheduled sometimes on the weekends here. Easter egg hunts, trick or treating, dancing, poker, bingo and all kinds of fun! Outside during the Summer there are 2 swimming pools, one for adults and one for kids! They each have an accompanying hot tub/spa or kiddie pool! During the winter they usually only keep one side open for everyone to share.

Inside this place is equipped with pool tables, air hockey and a ping pong table too! We have ping pong and billiard stuff in the camper for you to use while there. You can also just stop in to read one of the many books in stock to share or play a game with a loved one.

Outside of the Lodge, near the pools you will find a playground for the kids, shuffle board, and a pickle ball court with a basketball hoop on one side.

Our favorite place to go in Florida is to the local Warm Springs. They are crystal clear springs that have very deep limestone sinkholes that release millions of gallons of water each day!

In the winter time, when visiting Salt Springs Recreation, across the street, you may be lucky enough to spend some time with a few manatees! They swim up to the surface in the springs to get warm in the winter. Many people are lucky enough, especially early in the morning, to swim with them!

Don't be fooled by the term "Warm Springs" though....They feel cold! Don't get me wrong it's beautiful and very refreshing to swim in such clean, mineral rich water, but 72 degrees Fahrenheit is kinda cold. That hasn't stopped us though. It's well worth the visit!!

Let me tell you, between the trails and the springs, plus so many other places to see, we never want to leave this place!

Our full kitchen is equipped with a gas stove top an oven, a full size fridge, coffee maker and basic cooking and baking dishes and utensils. Towels, washcloths, blankets, linens and pillows are provided.

Our yard games include a mini bean bags set, ladder golf, and a set of full sized bean bags to used on the boards near the pavilion, adjacent to the dog park. There is even a pool stick with a set of balls, and some pickle ball paddles in case you need them!

We have a nice collection of indoor family games in our home too!

We do not charge for extra guests, we understand that some families don't mind close sleeping quarters. Our unit only has two beds to accommodate up to four people, but if you don't mind recliners, air mattresses and cots, feel free to have more than that! We just ask that you be respectful of our neighbors and property. We have extra linens for your use, but will only provide blankets for the two beds.

Pack your food, clothes and personal hygiene items and you are set to go!
