'I absolutely love this hotel bc my daughter loves the pool and it’s very affordable. They are dog friendly (I have a service dog but I like it’s dog friendly) in general. The staff is very nice and the only downfall is the restaurant that’s in there as you walk in doesn’t have a kids menu and their food isn’t great and it’s expensive! But the ice cream shakes are good…but that’s my only compliment on that particular place to eat. '

'The staff was not helpful. There was one guy who was helpful but not overly friendly. They were more worried about who quit and gossiping in front of customers versus making sure the free breakfast was stocked. The overall Custer service was a major disappointment. If it weren’t for that it would have been a nice stay. Great location in Waverly and lots of things to do within walking distance. Easy parking.'

'Overall stay was horrible. Checking in front desk clerk was abrupt and rude. Did not get maid service at all for room. 1st night had to request fresh towels and someone brought some. Next day maid service came and asked them to come a little later was in shower and would be gone in 30 minutes.. Came back that evening room not cleaned nor any maid service. Contacted desk and told if we wanted clean towels had to come down from room and get them ourself. They said maid service was gone and...

'This hotel was perfect for 2 of us that came to town for an event at UNI (3 minute drive/20 minute walk for reference). The price was right, the exterior is nice & well kept, and the interior was consistent with that. Overall very clean, pleasant staff including the housekeepers we met in the elevator. Another review mentioned noise from the highway, but we did not find this to be a problem. (We were on the highway side too). Water pressure in the shower is great, there were plenty of towels...

'My son and I stayed 6 nights in an accessible room. The website mentions that you have to request housekeeping during longer stays, but even when we did, we found the service a bit unpredictable. There was no niche or shelf for toiletries in the shower, which was inconvenient. Of the five staff members I spoke to during the visit, only one graced us with a smile while we were there. The breakfast was ok, but only one day offered scrambled eggs and sausage; the biscuits and gravy on the other...

'Hotel Julien is showing signs of age. What was probably a lovely, boutique hotel now looks and feels tired and worn out. Staff were pleasant, rooms spacious and the location was great, but our room wasn't very clean, and the beds/bedding all needs a refresh.'

'The only critique I have is the pillows. I am a bit picky about the pillows at hotels but every thing else was good!! I like more flat firm pillows and they either to plush or too smooshie… breakfast was good. Wish for more topping options for yogurt and eggs'
