Always Channel – Life on the Water, All Year Long
Wake up to sunrises over Muskegon Lake and watch boats and freighters pass by right out front at Always Channel—your waterfront surf shack on the Muskegon Channel. This 2-bedroom, 2-bath home sleeps up to 8 and offers a rare front-row seat to one of Muskegon’s most unique spots, all just a short 10-minute walk to Pere Marquette Beach, the lighthouse, and pier.
Life here naturally centers around the water. Mornings start slow with coffee on the front patio, afternoons are spent watching boats drift by or heading to the beach, and evenings wind down around the firepit as the sky changes over the channel.
The backyard is set up for easy, memorable time together, with a grill, outdoor bar, and space to relax under the lights—perfect for summer cookouts or cozy winter nights. Inside, the open layout brings everyone together, with a comfortable living room, fully equipped kitchen, and dining area designed for gathering.
The primary bedroom features two queen beds and its own private bath, while the second bedroom offers two twin beds with another full bath nearby. A sleeper sofa in the living room adds extra space, making it a great fit for families or groups traveling together.
We’ve tried to make your stay as easy as possible. Bikes, beach toys, a wagon, chairs, umbrella, and baby gear are all provided. And because we know pets are part of the family, up to two dogs are welcome with no pet fee—and the fenced yard gives them room to enjoy it too.
Whether you're here for a summer beach trip, a fall getaway, a quiet winter escape, or a spring weekend by the water, this is a place to slow down, settle in, and enjoy Muskegon in every season.
A Little Backstory
For nearly 18 years, we drove past this little house on the channel and dreamed about what it could be. We never saw anyone there, but it always felt like it was waiting. One day, we got the chance—and turned it into the surf shack you’re now enjoying.
