Playing board games by the fireplace in the evenings was a lovely touch. It’s only a ten minute drive into Oban, burger e high away that it’s peaceful. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back. 'We stayed two nights and loved the place. Charming, authentic, cool place with lots of space to relax. Old but that’s the point as has some history. Walking distance from ferry as we were on foot. Food offerings were great and well prepared. Staff very friendly and accommodating. No rigid rules and they always found solutions. Beds comfortable, amenities were good. Would recommend for sure. '

'This is possibly the most charming hotels and place I can remember staying. It’s an old building in a harsh Scottish environment and that is part of its charm. If you want pristine decoration it’s not for you. If you want excellent hospitality, fantastic staff and walls full of the owner’s original art, go. Walk the Crinan trail - the view from the viewpoint is one of the best on a clear day (it is a steep walk though). A genuine Scottish gem.'

'Perfect breakfast, hotel looks really nice! We had small room. This room had some issues: - very hot, even with window open and 13 degrees outside - bed is rather short - side table is close to your head when sleeping. place your pillow in the corner not to heard yourself. However design of room and hotel is really attractive.'
