Our Family was staying in the area to help a family member and a friend transition. She passed on July 4th. The location was just 10 minutes from hospice. The house we stayed in brought us joy, in this time of need . The farm animals would check in with us from time to time.
We loved the beautiful home and the beautiful and friendly animals and humans.we hated to leave and miss Roscoe and the cats and peacock. It was so relaxing.
This was our second week long stay and as soon as we entered the house it felt like home. The beds are very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you could want. We used the grill 3 nights. We have family in Morganton and come down every year. Usually stayed in a hotel. This is so much better. I love sitting out by the koi pond listening to the water snd watching the stars. The house is close to the grocery and restaurants. My Golden Retriever Henry met Dara's Golden Roscoe and he was in heaven with someone to play with! The horses and Noodles the donkey are awesome. I loved walking down to them to give them snacks carrots and apples. There are chickens, goats, a pig and peacocks. Also 4 friendly cats. Dante was at the door every night wanting to come in. Love hearing the peacocks calling out. We will be back next year for sure!! Dara is very responsive to any questions you may have as well.
The property is located on a multiple animal (rescue?) farm. The horses donāt bother you, the ādonkey does what the donkey does,ā the goats spent the first night on the front porch, a rooster crows about 24 hours/dayā¦gets really active about 5:45 am, a nearby peacock squaks randomly. The comfortable master bedroom is opposite the nearby highway snd church so those sounds are muffled but not the animals. Be prepared for a real animal farm experience!
My son and I stayed at this property for 7 nights with my Golden Retriever Henry. We come down to Morganton every year to visit older relatives down here and have always stayed in hotels. I am so glad I found this rental! The house was perfect for the 2 of us.It felt like home right away. My son is up later at night than I am so we slept on opposite ends of the house! The beds were so comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed and then some. We grilled on the gas grill 3 of the nights. Having 2 bathrooms was really nice too. The Food Lion was right down the road for groceries. Dara was very responsive to any questions we had. Check in and out was very easy. The farm is so beautiful and peaceful. The back porch swing was great looking out on the horses and pastures. The horses were beautiful and we loved petting them and giving treats. They were the highlight of our trip. My son had never been around horses before and he loved them. Noodles the donkey is hilarious and really liked my dog! Henry loved the horses too. The chickens and peacocks visited often. The koi pond was wonderful. We spent several nights sitting out there on the patio and watching the stars. We saw shooting stars and we think a satellite.Henry was fascinated with the Koi when they came up to be fed. We will be back next year for sure. Thanks again Dara!
We arrived on Friday evening with all guest 8 total. After realizing there wasnt as many beds as the listing states i asked for extra sheets for the pullout beds which ened up being only 1. She then bombarded me with calls insisting i pay more money...$450 more bc of the number of guests even though the listing states the house accomidates 10. Under beds and couches and cushions were disgusting. The oven was also not clean. I own a business cleaning vacation rentals in my area and that is not acceptable. We were there for a good time not a long time so we paid the money and then called VRBO for a refund. Be careful when booking. Make sure all fees are added or you may be forced to pay alot more.
My 13 year old granddaughter & I had a lovely visit. The horses, donkey and goat were fun- the koi were fascinating. The a/c was the perfect respite from the heat and humidity. Comfy beds, clean & quiet setting to enjoy time together.
Nice property removed from highway, good for peace and quiet. Easy to get to Asheville and surrounding hiking, as well as downtown Morganton. Has everything you need and charm of older house. Host was very responsive and made things easy.
Had a great weekend stay. The property owner was so kind to my family, especially my oldest. She gave her some carrots to feed the farm animals there. It was a lot of fun for the kids to pet the animals and see the koi pond. She even helped us by working with us on our check out time so we wouldn't be stressed about an event we had to attend. I would recommend this property.
This was our second time staying here and we love it! It's very relaxing, peaceful and convenient to so many areas. The owner is great and her rescue horses are beautiful! I loved spending time with those incredible animals!! Noodles the donkey was a favorite, too!
