Incredible sunsets come with this 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom home situated on the sandy shores of Brevort Lake. The 4300 acre all-sports lake in Michigan's Upper Peninsula has endless opportunities for all age groups included fishing, boating, kayaking, etc.
Shawandasee offers a queen size bed in the 1st room, and a full size bed with a twin bunk above in the 2nd bedroom. The open concept kitchen with island dining flows flawlessly into the living room, and through the sun room where you will experience the true raw beauty of Brevort Lake. This home is perfect for any getaway, whether it be family, or romantic. Take a day trip to the famous Mackinac Island, or the historic town of St.Ignace to try some fudge, and enjoy the small town vibes. The Sand Dunes ( major swimming beach on lake Michgian) is just 5 minutes away, along with many major hiking trail heads & ATV tracks.

Wonderful stay, beautiful views of sunsets … lake… and Milky Way!Cabin well stocked, dim lighting in bathroom (Women who put on eye makeup beware). And be Careful when getting out of tub!!My biggest worry was making sure that we were on time. There was a small window of time that we were expected to arrive (4-5pm). And on a holiday weekend made me nervous that we might have to call an after hours number which didn’t guarantee that anyone would be available to assist.And make sure you clean up after yourself before you exit, which is what responsible people do anyways.All in all it was a memorable stay.

It was nice that it was right on the lakeCould be a cute place The place was absolutely filthy, food left on dishes,silverware,pot and pans…everything had to be washed before you could use them…sand piles left on bathroom floor, hair on the wall in showerDust everywhere and had to wash sheets as they smelled like sweat…place was NOT cleaned…We were so disappointed especially for the price these places are getting..totally unacceptable.Was told there was A/C, there wasn’t.We have rented several times through VRBO and have never had a bad experience till now….filed a complaint and still waitingI wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone unless you want to spend your first morning cleaning… I would rate this place a negative 10 along with the communication

House on the Lake

Cute house on the lake to relax in after spending the day on Mackinac Island. My son loved his bunk bed. Make sure to notice there is no AC. There are fans available but bedrooms did get warmer than we are use to as it was a very hot day.

Shawandasee Visit 9/13-9/16

Wonderful visit at Shawandasee on Brevort Lake! Excellent retreat, especially if you have children or grandchildren visiting. Three Season room has window access into bedroom with double bottom and single top bunk. Easy to have Adults relaxing, playing games or cards but still able to hear and respond to kids. Water is shallow and safe for children wading and swimming.

Beautiful retreat

Beautiful, peaceful, quiet spot on a gorgeous lake. The house was wonderful and had every amenity. A short drive to U.P. attractions. I spent a perfect week exploring the area and relaxing by the lake. I will be going back!

Quite, peaceful and Relaxing

The cabin/cottage was extremely clean and comfortable. The yard was well kept with nice plantings. 2 nice size bedrooms. Kitchen was nicely equipped with most anything appliance you would need. Screened in 3 season porch was very nice for watching the sunset. The location was secluded but at the same time very accessible to the sites we wanted to visit. Only draw back was the weather did not cooperate for fishing, was extremely windy and rained several days.

Great quiet getaway location

House was nice, everything was just as described. Great porch to relax in at the end of a day and look out over the lake. House is very well maintained. First hour at the house we saw a bald eagle! Good central location to take short day trips to Mackinac island, tahquamenon falls, or soo locks.

We used this as a homebase for our fall color trips. Loved everything about it. Cottage was clean and comfy. Sleeps four fairly comfortably, sunroom is really cool. Ideal for a group of four. A bit off the beaten path.

Nice small home, a little remote

We enjoyed our stay. House is small but is perfect for a small family or a couple. It would be nice if they would add air conditioning. We stayed in mid September and it was still very stuffy in the house. It would also be nice if the lighting (especially) in the bathroom was updated. The neighbors are close and friendly but one of them had a very loud dog that barked in the middle of the nights waking us. You are on a large lake so they views were nice but it was a bit of a drive on a graveled road if you were going to go sightseeing or just needed to run to town. All-in-all a nice little place.

Great quiet getaway

Beautiful spot for a quiet get away for the family. Lovely sunsets and a very safe lake for the kids to swim and aplash around. Great location as a central hub to go visit the main attractions near by as well. We enjoyed our stay!

Week-long lake stay

Perfect location on an amazing inland lake, near to I75 and town when needed. Quiet neighbors, great experience with property management. The home and its amenities were just right for 3 adults and 2 small children, just be sure to note that there is no air conditioning if that'sa deal breaker for you. It was only hot enough 1 night that we would have liked it, but it wasn't unbearable. Great stay, would stay again!

Short but Sweet

Rented for a week and used as a home base while sightseeing across the UP. Actually only stayed 3 nights at the property, but they were great. The peacefulness and views were unbelievable. Our son even slept in the screened in porch. All amenities were there as expected. Nice washer and dryer. A new dock was added which we used. Only thing missing was internet, but we were told it was being installed a week later. We travelled all over the world and stayed in many places. This place felt like home for the short time we had.

Fishing trip

My family has owned property on Brevort lake in northern Michigan for decades. I wanted to get a place to take friends. This house is on an end street with full view of the lake. It has an outstanding view with all the comforts. My guest’s were elated by their experience this week. Genuinely a five star experience.
