The Leiton & Cruz families have lived in Monteverde for multiple generations and in one way or another are involved in many of the tourism efforts of our friendly community from coffee tours to night walks, hotels and restaurants, to home grown hospitality with a sprinkle of luxury, which is our specialty here at Casa Haydee.
My family strives to provide you with an exceptional experience that not only helps you sleep well at night, but allows you direct access into the richness of what our local culture has to offer when you are given the opportunity to be a part of it.
My mother, Haydee has not only raised me and my five siblings by herself, she tends to mother just about anyone who enters our house, insisting on sitting you down for some fresh organic herbal tea that she quickly rushes out to pick from our yard. Haydee will sit with you for friendly conversations where you can practice your Spanish, but even if you cannot speak Spanish, you will somehow feel like you have always known her and that all mothers should be like her. Haydee was a professional baker for years and takes pride in the delicious and nutritious meals that she makes. Upon advance request, Haydee will even give you a private cooking class so that you can go home and take some of our delicious meals with you.
