The cabin was awesome! The decor was really cool, it gave it those mountain cabin vibes. The beds were really comfortable. I've never seen so many deer in my life, we even saw three run across the river (got a pic of one of them). We had a great time fishing on (and in) the river. My nephew caught the most trout, with a high count of eight. He actually bare-handed one out of the water, one of the coolest things I've seen. Would definitely come back, we made a lot of good family memories on this trip!
Owner is friendly and communicative. Home was comfortable and had everything necessary. The views were great. We enjoyed the river, the firepit and the jacuzzi. We were there mostly for R & R and it did the job! Asher our dog enjoyed watching the deer nearby.
Overall we are disappointed with the cabin. Cleanliness is lackingâŠthere are dog hairs on sheets and towels as well as in all corner of floor. Pieces of dry dog food on floors, crackers and popcorn in cupholders of theater room chairs. Cobwebs inside home and in kitchen as well as dead bugs in kitchen cabinets and drawers. Soap in basement bathroom was 99% water. Hot tub is full of dirt and sand. Additionally, the property is listed as being on the river, which is somewhat misleading as it is difficult to even see the river from the cabin with trees blocking views. House and especially basement has strong musty odor. We were asked what the air should be set to, asked for 68 and it was 77 upon arrival. We appreciate the opportunity to stay but the property feels not well upkept compared to VRBO listing description and pictures.
This property was amazing! It was clean, the bed was super comfortable and it glowed rustic charm! This home is surrounded by beautiful scenery and overlooked the river! In addition to flyfishing and golfing, the towns nearby had amazing food and great shopping!!!! We loved it and recommend it! Thanks to our host who was very kind and responsive to all our questions!
The cabin was very charming and comfortable. Our teenage sons really liked the theatre area and made it their permanent camp for the week. The proximity to the river is a big plus. We spent several mornings having coffee on the deck and just watching the river go by. Our host was very nice and responsive to questions. Overall it was a great stay and we hope to rent it again in the future.
This was such a great rental! Access to the best spot on the river. Shallow enough for the kids to walk across and super fun fishing. Convenient to town while feeling secluded and quiet. Would rent again!
It was very enjoyable vacation. Property Manager was always checking in to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. Kids enjoyed the fishing, we enjoyed kayaking down the river and local attractions downtown. Highly suggest this stay
The listing and pictures for the property are accurate. Communication with host was great. Plenty of beds and seating for our family of 6. There's a great fire pit and seating area close to the river. The host supplied some firewood and fishing poles. We enjoyed the downstairs theater and the outdoor hot tub, the view of the river and the wildlife! We saw a deer in the lower yard a few minutes after our check-in. We rode the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway - it passes right by the property on the opposite side of the river. We waved at the train from the balcony and the yard. The kitchen was well furnished, I liked the 'fishing cabin' themed decorations in the house. Wifi worked well for our family.
There are a lot of stairs so you can get your steps in! If someone in your group has problems with stairs or heights, they might not enjoy the stay as much. Beautiful scenery driving in, maps does take you right there, but the road in is narrow, windy and has a few scary drops for those with fears of heights. If your family has vertigo/height issues or fear of mountain roads because you come from a flat area, you might want to approach through Ellijay and Blue Ridge, rather than come up past Blood Mountain. T-Mobile doesn't cover the area well, so if they are your carrier, you can be 'off the grid' if you want to be, or use wifi calling.
Local attractions: Sasquatch Museum, Amicalola Falls, Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, Zipline Canopy Tours of Blue Ridge, Blue Ridge Reservoir and Dam.
My family and I really enjoyed our stay, the hot tub was well used! The guys fished for trout, that was something new for them so they really enjoyed it! My grand kids enjoyed the Theater room! I would recommend it to anyone!
We got away to get outdoors and spend some time in nature. This was a great experience with a spacious cabin and beautiful surroundings. Communication with the owner was superb as well. I would highly recommend.
We had great time at the cabin. Our dogs were welcome. Downtown Blue Ridge was a short drive. Lots to do in the area. On the river, so bring your fishing poles. Hot tub was perfect. Easy to communicate and considerate on temp of the cabin. Great experience and would definitely book again.
We had a fabulous stay!! Frank was excellent at communication and accommodating. The cabin was spacious and just perfect for our family. Our son loved the fishing off of the banks. I loved the close proximity to town and my husband loved the rocking chairs on the deck in the early mornings.
LOTS OF FISH TO CATCH! We caught over 50 fish in a four day time period. Loved waving to the train as it went by twice a day. The home was well stocked with laundry and towels and blankets. Very clean and excellent host. Highly recommended!
This house was so charming and comfortable. The beds were perfect and we spent each evening out on the large deck sitting in the incredible rocking chairs just listening to the sounds of the river as it flowed by. It was just what we were looking for to relax and rewind!
Beautiful setting on the river on a lovely fall weekend. Very quiet street. Kids loved the basement theater set-up with comfy chairs and the upstairs loft area for sleeping. Dogs loved the outside area on the river. Beds were comfortable and everything was nice and clean. Updated new appliances (e.g. stove, dishwasher). ~ 15-20 minute drive to downtown Blue Ridge with most of the restaurants.
Unforgettable Mountain Cabin Retreat for Family and Dogs!
Our getaway to the cabin was serene and relaxing. The spacious yard was a great place for our dogs and kid to run around, while the serene river provided peaceful moments and playful water fun. The adjacent walking trail by the hot tub was one of my favorite things, it allowed us a place to walk the dogs without going down the stairs. The deck off the back is fully enclosed which offered a great space for the dogs to be outside off leash. This mountain cabin was the perfect balance of relaxation and natural beauty. Great memories were made. Highly recommended for families and their furry companions!
This cabin well exceeded my expectations. Beautiful view of the river from the outside deck. Riverside fire pit was epic and the fishing was great. If youâre looking for an away from the crowd place to stay with all the amenities of a luxury cabin, Iâd highly recommend this booking. Owner was very friendly and responsive to inquiries.
We had a great time staying at this property on the Toccoa River outside Blue Ridge. The home is very comfortable, well equipped, and convenient to both Blue Ridge, GA and Copperhill, TN. Frank reached out with lots of helpful information before our arrival, including all the access info for the electronic locks. Consequently, our arrival went super smoothly. Switches and remotes are clearly labeled throughout the home, making it easy to settle in quickly. The large yard and fire pit next to the river provide a wonderful place to relax, throw a ball, or fish for trout. We loved our stay and plan to return. My only caution would be to anyone who has difficulty with stairs, since the house is three levels and built into a hillside - that should be apparent from the pictures, tho.
