This was my first time in Mexico City, and it was such a treat to stay at this beautiful Guesthouse in Coyoacán! The property is gorgeous, there is an incredible garden, brilliant colors, and the warmest hospitality. Breakfast every morning was such a treat! Fernando takes great care and attention to create gorgeous and delicious breakfast for the guests, this was such a highlight! I highly recommend, and I hope to return again soon, thank you!

Fernando and Jorge were great hosts, very friendly and always attentive to my needs. My room was comfortable and well furnished. Breakfasts were always delicious. I recommend the Maria del Alma Guest House, and will use it again if I am staying in the area.

It is a beautiful property and the room had a lovely balcones. The breakfasts were plentiful and great. The only problem was that WiFi was dicey: a different server/pw on the balcones than in the room, and the wifi in the room only worked on my iPad, not my iPhone (the phone worked using mobile data)

If you’re looking for a safe quiet, family home in a quaint part of the city, look no further. Maria del Alma Guest house is tranquil. Enough privacy between guests when sitting outside the rooms but also a bit of a community vibe, especially with breakfast time when you meet the other travelers. Fernando or his brother will greet you any time of day or night upon your arrival. The breakfast was hearty to be completely honest. The coffee leaves a lot to be desired. I guess I’m a coffee snob. there’s green grass, songbirds, and flowers in the courtyard of the house. The house is decorated and arranged in a theme to be like Frida Kahlo‘s house, which is only three minutes walk. The centre of Coyoacan is about five minutes walk and it’s bustling at times. Many food options and drinking options. Entertainment in the Square at night. It’s a short walk to San Angel. I booked on Expedia with a nonrefundable reservation, which I never do. However, I was not disappointed. Maria del Alma House is the perfect spot in Coyoacán.

It's where you want to stay in Coyoacan - the location is perfect for all the things you would want to do in the neighborhood, but on a quiet street. The daily breakfasts, private balconies, and the incredible hosts were all worth coming back for.

The place is located within walking distance of all the attractions that the neighborhood of Coyoacan is known for. Fernando made sure that we felt welcomed throughout our stay in his beautiful home. He is a great host. Besides the breakfast was delicious! I would definitely recommend this place.

The bed-and-breakfast was a perfect home away from home. Walking distance to the center of Coyoacán. A wonderful homemade breakfast every morning. Very friendly and caring staff. I would definitely stay here my next visit to Mexico city/Coyoacan area!

Oasis in Coyoacan

Absolutely loved our stay at Maria del Alma hotel. It's in the heart of the Coyoacan District in Mexico City, within walking distance of the main square, restaurants, cafes, shops, MUSEUMS, and old fashion mercados. You wouldn't imagine Coyoacan is inside an enormous metropolis, it feels like a small town filled with beautiful old homes, huges trees and clean and orderly streets. The hotel itself has a beautiful garden and is an old and very well kept home from the 1930's. It has everything that you need and expect in a good hotel. The owner, Fernando takes care of you and gives you good advice on the local places to visit. Fernando is a retired accountant, restaurant owner and a very good chef. He prepares delicious breakfasts which he personally serves to his guests. He speaks perfect English and Spanish and I suspect even more languages. His hotel is like an oasis inside a colonial town inside a huge and marvelous city. Definitely worth the stay.

My time at the Maria del Alma Guest House was wonderful. I was traveling by myself and I felt very well cared for by the Guest House. Everyone was very helpful with transportation ideas, places to go and see and making sure I was comfortable. I will stay at Maria del Alma Guest House again. 주인인 Fernando는 영어에 매우 능통해서 스페인어를 전혀 못해도 의사소통에 아무런 지장이 없습니다. Fernando를 비롯한 모든 직원들은 매우 친절하고, 객실 상태는 매우 깔끔하며, 다이닝룸과 정원이 매우 좋습니다. 아침식사가 너무 맛있고, 코요아칸 지역 중심부에서 걸어서 10분 정도로 접근성이 좋고, 주변에 타코집이랑 La Bipo를 비롯한 싸고 맛있는 식당들이 많습니다. Fernando, the host, is very fluent in English that there is no problem communicating with the host even if you cannot speak Spanish at all! All the staffs are very kind and nice. The room is very neat and clean, also big enough. Their dining room and garden are wonderful. Very delicious breakfast(especially mexican style main dish and the butter!) also. It`s 10 minute walk from the main square of Coyoacan. Nearby lots of delicious Taco restaurants and great mexican restaurants such as La Bipo are located.

Oasis in Coyoacán

Our stay here was remarkable! Fernando (owner) and his staff made our stay here exceptional! Fernando was very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful with all of our needs. The property is quaint and comfortable. Our room was beautiful, spacious, and comfortable. The location is perfect, close enough to the attractions of Coyoacán, yet far enough to be away from the central activities and quite. We would recommend this B&B to our family and friends. One last thought, we were surprised that it is cash only up front. It didn’t turn out to be a problem, but know that it is cash up front. Again, great place and we had a great time!

A charming B&B, colorfully painted and very comfortable. In a quiet safe neighborhood near Frida Kahlo museum and shops and restaurants. Can easily walk to whatever you need. Very friendly caretaker who does his best to make you comfortable.

We spent a week at Maria del Alma and were absolutely blown away by Fernando and Jorge's hospitality. Where to start? Fernando, aside from being a wonderful cook and foodie, was an absolutely delightful host. He was very knowledgeable about Coyoacán, Mexico City, and Mexican culture. But breakfast was the highlight of the day. Every morning Fernando delighted us with different traditional breakfast dishes, fresh fruit juice, and coffee. Best of all was his attentiveness and eloquent conversation. The entire house is filled with charming touches. We felt right at home, but better! We were happy to have requested the double room with the balcony, as we spent a great deal of time in such a serene space. Ninfa, the cockatiel was cute too, lots of personality for such a small bird. The hotel location is also superb, just a couple of blocks from the Frida Kahlo Museum, the Trotsky Museum, Coyoacán center, and the Viveros, for a nice walk/run. Overall, it was our best stay in Mexico and we look forward to staying there again in the future.

An oasis of tranquility and peace in the middle of Coyacan district. It's a private villa with four rooms for guests. The villa itself is 92 years old, but fully revamped to accommodate modern travellers. Fernando, the owner lives at the villa and he made our stay exceptional: he extended a traditional Mexican hospitality over and above. Bravo!

AN ABSOLUTE WINNER IN COCOAYAN!

Maria del Alma Guest House is one of the most charming places In which I've stayed during my many years of travel. My room and Mexican tiled bathroom were spacious and beautifully decorated. The breakfast, cooked by Fernando, one of the personable owners, was delicious. The sumptuous repast included fresh fruit, honeydew juice, warm crusty rolls with a marvelous homemade fig jam, as well as a tasty Mexican egg dish. My only regret is that I stayed one night. The next time I visit Mexico City, this unique oasis will be my base of operations. Within walking distance of the Frida Kahlo house and many fine restaurants. Highly recommended for the discerning traveler.

Lovely visit

The hosts were lovely- Fernando waited up for me as I was coming in on a late flight. He brought me a midnight snack and Fernando and George cooked a fantastic breakfast with great coffee. Both were friendly and kind, and the bed was comfy. The shower head was a bit old and needed to be replaced, and the toilet didn't quite flush properly but it is an old house, and the kind service and flexibility made up for the basics needing some attention. The neighborhood is great and all fun touristy stuff in walking distance.

Perfect! We will return often!

We loved staying here!! Well appointed rooms, well maintained and a beautiful place to stay. The gardens were very nice, the owner was more than helpful - always available and great to talk to! We can't say enough about how wonderful our stay was and we will always return to Maria Del Alma Guest House when we are in Mexico. Love the neighborhood, Loved everything!

Excellent location, room + hosts!

So very thankful to have found this gem within the oasis of Coyoacan. Fernando is a gracious host, and previously a restaurant owner, his breakfasts are wonderful. Our room was large with a spacious private outdoor space. The area is perfect for walking and felt very safe. Coyoacan feels like its own small town with plazas filled with locals day and night. Great restaurants too. Uber rides are quick, easy and inexpensive from here. The metro is a 10 minute walk. Very close to Viveros park that has a running/walking track through the gardens. Only 2 blocks from Frida Kahlo's house.
