A very relaxing stay….and a great bathroom!

We came to stay as we were doing an activity in the area. The room was fantastic! It was very modern, spacious and clean. We received a very warm welcome and there was always someone on hand to answer any questions. We ate in the pub a couple of times and the food was great. We were very surprised and pleased to have a breakfast basket delivered each morning. We stayed in Cassia which was very quiet and had an amazing bathroom.

Disappointing for a Highly Rated Lodging Locating

Overall experience was between disappointing. The room did not have any heating when we arrived. We had informed staff and told us to play with the t-stat on the wall as instructed. We had to sleep the first night with no heat. The second night, we had heat because another staff member realized the a control panel on the 1st floor needed to be switched on in order for all the units in the part of the building we were staying could receive heat. It took 24 hours for us to get a working remote for the TV. We received breakfast for the 1st morning and we did not receive breakfast for the 2nd morning. We paid for service with free breakfast. We felt like we were an annoyance to their staff. We also realized we were 1 of 2 couples staying in their lodging and they explained to us that their lodging is their revenue generator. So by this we were baffled by the lack of service. Our bathroom had tile base falling off the walls as well. Disappointing stay for a highly rated location.

Dangerously loose wiring

We have just returned from a long awaited weekend away at the Dog and Badger. The weekend was awash with poor customer service! We booked dinner in the pub only for them to forget our order resulting in us waiting over an hour for our food and watching everyone else get served before us! We gave up asking for water at the table…3 requests and it still didn’t arrive. When we went into the bathroom the flush for the toilet was hanging off the wall with wires dangerously on display. We reported this, however nobody came to fix it and meant we had to lift up the unit for the whole weekend just to use the toilet. As you can see in the picture this was completely unacceptable. The cleaner clearly never came in either as she would surely have seen this?? An additional note the mirror in the bathroom is starting to come away from the wall and if you want use straighteners or a hair dryer there is no plug even remotely near a mirror!! Very disappointed 😢 we waited a long time for this weekend and have even let Hotels. Com know who have contacted the Dog and Badger. They have refused to even email us an apology.

We very much appreciated the quality of the fittings in the room, the bathroom was lovely with a free standing bath, separate walk in shower room and separate toilet room. The bed was very comfortable, with a feather duvet, and all areas had easily controlled lighting everywhere. We just had to be careful with the low beams and doorway! Due to the current situation continental breakfast was delivered to our room in a hamper , and tea and coffee making facilities were available.

Very friendly staff who were attentive and helpful. Some of the bathroom fixtures need tightening up. The outside seating areas also would benefit from a tidy - sweeping and weeding . Overall a pleasant stay.

We’ll be back next year!

Wonderful rooms, fantastic staff. They couldn’t have done more for us and we felt so welcome. The location is gorgeous with the river a short walk away. The food was really good too, highly recommend a visit to the restaurant. We will be back next year!

The property was located perfectly between marlow and Henley. The staff were lovely and polite!! The food was really nice from the continental breakfast too the even meals. And I the rooms were well presented and clean. I would definitely stay again and recommend to others

Lovely hotel

I loved staying at The dog and badger we had a really great stay , beautiful decor and very modern bathroom, my only criticism is the the noisy guests above us, slamming doors and the creaky floor boards.
