Schiestlhaus, Hochschwab, Styria, Austria

Morning view south from Hochschwab summit (alt. 2.227 meters) in the middle of Hochschwab mountain range. It is the most northern part of Alps which rises over 2.000 meters of altitude. There are basically no lifts in the Hochschwab, so you can enjoy it in its natural state. In September the weather is quite stable (although quite windy and freezing in the morning in the top parts) and only few tourists which get such rewarding views for the pain of hiking it by own feet. There is nice mountain hut called Schiestlhaus only 70 alt. meters below the Hochschwab summit, so you can get to the top both for the sunset or sunrise.

« In unserem 5 tätigen Aufenthalt fühlte ich mich etwas wie in einem Laufhaus, ständig wechselnde Leute, vorallem respektlose und anstandslose Leute, die ebenso das Appartement gemietet haben, ein Arbeiten war leider dort nicht möglich, obwohl ich Dienstlich unterwegs war. Der Letzte Mieter war sehr freundlich und angenehm, ebenso die Mutter mit der ich ein sehr nettes Gespräch führte, nach unberechtigten Beschwerden der Mieter, im großen und ganzen okay, aber nochmal leider nicht mehr. »
