The house is very nice and the island is beautiful as always. Unfortunately on the 3rd day of our trip we began to notice the pool looking green with algae forming at the steps and my daughter developed swimmers itch. We contacted the management company who had the pool company out the following day (we notified them on a Sunday). The pool company acknowledged the pool was dirty and said it would be swimmable in 3 hours but that turned out to be optimistic. I contacted the management company again and they had the pool company back out the following day for a more thorough cleaning which eventually led to 3 days without a key amenity available to us.While the management company was appropriately reactive it was clear that the pool was not maintained in advance. Reactive but not proactive. We never asked for a refund but they did offer us 100 and a day pass at the YMCA which was better than nothing but woefully inadequate and slightly insulting since we were not on vacation to go to the Y…they then increased the offer to 300 which was accompanied by an agreement that was equally insulting since it required me to indemnify them and hold harmless against any 3rd party for issues related to the pool which is a massive obligation to the customer in this situation and for a low dollar amount, it also had gag language requiring no review or a 5 star review which felt inappropriate. With these facts we ultimately refused the refund.Overall nice house, but disappointing outcome.
