On one of the morning at 6am I witnessed one of the most poorly organised fire evacuations I have ever seen. The fire alarm was going off for half an hour, some people were told to turn around and go back to their rooms some didn’t have information. No member of staff was around to co-ordinate us or send us to the assembly area. We were stood outside with no information. Even when the fire alarm finished, there was no check in place, no one was told it was safe to return. It was a shambles! I’ve never experienced anything like it. I am a young solo traveller and this was a very scary experience. i suggest you review your fire procedure because of there was a severe issue you would have fatalities on your hands. I have also grievances with the lack of facilities advertised. When I booked I was made aware that there was a jacuzzi (the reason I chose this hotel as I thought it would be nice in winter months) when I went up to the roof to use it was taped off and closed. I went down to reception to speak to the lady and she was very short with me, saying it was being fixed right now (there was no one up there fixing it) I asked if she had a rough timeline, did she expect a couple of days/ months? She was very rude and didn’t give me any clarity or decent customer service! I also had broken air on (which has now been fixed) and broken safe (also fixed) but should have been inspected upon check in. I contacted management but had no response or support whatsoever.

Stay somewhere else for the money
Air conditioner was not working properly at check in. Two requests were made to fix it, resulting in a small fan being provided. This lasted until we left a week later. When I asked for a discount for our inconvenience at checkout, we were told that the hotel does not participate in such things. Breakfast buffet was okay, nothing special. On the upside, general staff was very good and attentive. If you go anywhere in Madeira be prepared for a lot of hills! 45 degree inclines are common and you are never far from passing traffic and exhaust fumes. We paid $200 a night, expected more for our money. Plenty of other hotels in Madeira, try one of those first.

O hotel é belíssimo e muito confortável, conta com uma hidromassagem no terraço com uma vista linda. O café da manhã era sempre saboroso e bem servido. A localização era boa considerando que na Madeira os pontos turísticos ficam espalhados pela ilha. Tem restaurantes bons próximo do hotel. O atendimento era muito bom, porém a acessibilidade não era das melhores considerando que para ir ao terraço era necessário subir um lance de escada e para acessar o prédio novo era preciso passar um pequeno lance de escadas da recepção até a piscina externa, apesar de ter recebido ajuda tanto na chegada no hotel quanto na saída com as malas ainda sim caso uma pessoa com deficiência quisesse acessar o terraço ou ir para a piscina externa seria difícil, não era o caso porém seria bom que eles pensassem sobre isso para qualquer imprevisto futuro. Minha estadia foi muito confortável e o hotel oferecia pacotes de passeios pela ilha com saída do hotel (minha dica é que vocês agendem logo que chegarem ao hotel assim conseguem escolher as datas que realmente desejam). Espero poder voltar a Madeira algum dia!

Absolutely recommend
I can't say enough good things about this hotel and our stay. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and the grounds and view were gorgeous. We stayed in a deluxe ocean view room and it did not disappoint. The only thing I'd say that I took any issue with is the bathroom setup. Aesthetically it's beautiful, but practically ... not so much. The toilet has a sliding door without a lock and the shower is basically open. There is a curtain you can close from the bed side of the glass, but only on that side. If you're there by yourself or with a partner (and you're not shy) it's no problem, but I do tend to prefer a bit more privacy. This would absolutely not deter me from staying there again. Regarding food, breakfast was excellent everyday. The dinner, for me, was a bit less so, but still good. My partner loved all of the fish and though I don't like fish as much, I always found something good to eat. As for the location, it depends on what you want. For relaxation that's still close to restaurants and some shops, it's perfect. We didn't take the bus, but there's a stop immediately in front of the hotel to take you to the center and old town of Funchal. Walking takes about 25 minutes, depending on your speed. We travel pretty frequently (once or twice a month) and this was one of the best hotels/stays we've ever had. I have no intention of staying anywhere else the next time we go to Madeira.

Chambre conforme à ce que nous avions demandé, avec petit balcon vue sur mer. Nous avons apprécié les 2 piscines (extérieur et intérieur) ainsi que le rooftop avec jacuzzi et bar. Personnel serviable et accueillant. Le spa et le restaurant Culinarium sont à faire (sur réservation). L’hotel est à 30min à pied du centre de Funchal mais plusieurs bus sont disponibles dans la zone si besoin. Seul bémol : pour un 4* on s’attend à avoir des peignoirs dans la chambre. En option payante (8€ /peignoir).

This is a great find everything is very clean check in was very fast breakfast choice is very good and all staff members were very pleasant and helpful. Only downside is it’s on a very steep hill if getting airport bus it’s only €5 per person each way very cheap. So just be prepared for the uphill walk!!. Lovely views from the roof top bar area

Muito bom. Instalações actualizadas e serviços muito convenientes e de primeira qualidade. Só 4 aspectos a melhorar: acesso à piscina interior pela rua e em frente ao restaurante (pouco discreto e muito frio), devia ser obrigatório o uso de touca na piscina interior, a piscina interior fecha demasiado cedo (7pm) e o piso junto à piscina interior é muito escorregadio (pedra polida que garante em absoluto uma queda aos mais distraídos).

Hyggelig, men med teppegulv.
Ok hotell med fine fasiliteter og hyggelig betjening. Jeg kunne nok ønsket å slippe teppegulv på rommet. Ligger i et rolig område, men likevel i nærheten av mange bra restauranter. Wi-fi var ganske ustabil.

We have just returned from a lovely stay at the Savoy Gardens. Staff were helpful, room was clean and spacious and we had a great view. We'd asked to be away from the noise and this was accommodated. The breakfasts were good, hot tub on roof was good with a great view. We were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary and this was a great choice.

Der erste Eindruck war eher schlecht. Wir haben ein anderes Zimmer erhalten als wir gebucht hatten. Eine Reklamation an der Rezeption half uns ein anderes Zimmer zu bekommen, jedoch erst am nächsten Tag. Zimmer: Das neue Zimmer war top, mit einem wunderschönen Ausblick. Sehr positiv empfanden wir, dass man andere Gäste nicht hörte, obwohl das Hotel augenscheinlich ausgebucht war. Die Zimmerreinigung war ebenfalls vorbildlich. Uns fehlte jedoch eine Minibar. Ein Kühlschrank befand sich im Zimmer, jedoch war dieser nicht befüllt. Sehr schade. Frühstück: Die Qualität der angebotenen Speisen war ausgezeichnet. Allerdings war auch hier nicht alles Sonnenschein. So war der Frühstücksraum sehr eng. Die Tische waren daher auch sehr dicht aneinander gestellt. Am Buffet herrschte dichtes Gedränge. Schade war ebenfalls, dass kein "Early-Bird-Breakfast" angeboten wurde. Die Zeiten waren von 07:30h bis 10:00h. Sonstiges: Auf dem Dach befindet sich eine Bar. Abends hat man von dort einen wunderschönen Blick über die Stadt. Die Abende auf dem Dach haben wir sehr genossen. Aufgrund einer benachbarten Großbaustelle war keine Erholung im Hotel möglich. Natürlich kann das Hotel nichts dafür und dieser Fakt wurde auch nicht mit in die oben abgegebene Bewertung aufgenommen.

Posizione hotel un po' scomoda se non hai l'auto l'hotel è di buona qualità in generale solo la moquette della stanza vecchia e non tanto pulita così come il vetro sopra la vasca da bagno ed i vetri della finestra mai puliti in 9 giorni colazione ottima e varia con un ricco buffet personale molto disponibile

Schöner Ausblick und sehr gutes Frühstück
Wir haben hier 2 Nächte verbracht und wurden freundlich empfangen. Der Weg ins Zentrum ist okay...ziemlich steiler Rückweg muss eben in Kauf genommen werden. Leider konnten wir weder den Pool noch den Spa-Bereich nutzen, zu wenig Zeit und zu schlechtes Wetter, aber das Zimmer mit Meerblick und einem tollen Bett (!!!) sowie das umfangreiche Frühstück haben uns komplett zufriedengestellt. An der Sauberkeit im Zimmer (Bad) kann definitiv noch gearbeitet werden.
