We had a wonderful stay at this cabin! The accommodations are very nice, the bed was extremely comfortable and it was a king which made it even better! We have stayed in many Adirondack cabins and having a king bed is rare and truly appreciated! I am considering purchasing the same matress. I loved the living room furniture and all the decor. We were there on a cold weekend so we didn't get to enjoy the lake as much as we would have liked so I guess it's another trip during a warmer month! The cabin is very cozy and the fireplace was very much enjoyed by us and our dog. The cabin has everything you could need, toiletries and condiments and plenty of towels. It was my 60th birthday and host, Susan left me a gift which I truly appreciated as It was a magnet with a photo of the camp which I collect from all of our journeys. Susan is a great host and was very attentive to any needs we had. Thank you Susan for making my birthday special!

We honestly didn’t expect to love this place as much as we did. Adirondack Sunset on Upper Chateaugay Lake is one of those spots that’s nice in photos, but somehow way better in real life. The cabin just has this warm, cozy, Adirondack feel that makes you want to slow down and stay awhile. Susan and her husband were fantastic. Super friendly, easy to communicate with, and always there if we needed something. Everything was taken care of, which made the whole stay feel effortless. The ice fishing was an absolute blast. We set up right on the lake near the cabin, and it couldn’t have been more convenient. The fish were aggressive and hit hard, which kept things exciting the entire time. We caught some incredible fish - big lake trout, pike, huge bass, Atlantic salmon, and tons of perch. There was always something happening, and every catch felt like a win. The kids had the best time. It felt like a real outdoor adventure, but with the comfort of a warm cabin to come back to. Being surrounded by the woods and the lake was something special, and it’s a trip they’ll never forget. The cabin itself was spotless, warm, and set up perfectly. The kitchen had everything we needed, the beds were comfortable, and it just felt like home. If you’re looking for a place with great hosts, amazing fishing, and that perfect mix of outdoor adventure and comfort, this is it. We’d go back in a heartbeat.

We had a wonderful experience at Susan and Greg’s cabin on Upper Chateaugay Lake. The sunsets were as good as advertised, and the mountain and lake themed decor was absolutely conducive to a soothing, rustic experience. The unit was very well furnished from pots and pans, to comfortable bedding, to personal watercraft, an inviting fire pit, genuine Adirondack chairs, to an inviting lawn swing overlooking the lake. Attention to small details was a hallmark of this property. Susan was regularly in touch and responded within minutes to any question. Their pet friendly policy meant that our son’s and daughter-in- law’s dog could experiences a mountain lake vacation too, and he was one happy, tired pooch. In short, a wonderful time was had by all.

Idyllic setting

Susan, the owner, has thought of everything. The cabin is well stocked with kitchen & bathroom supplies & outdoor gear for several different sports. She responds to emails within a few minutes generally! The site is a great place to relax for a week. Am thinking of returning to cross country ski in the winter as the cabin is winterized!

The property and cabin were just as shown. We spent most our time out doors enjoying the lake and local hikes. The one thing about this cabin unlike others in the area, it is surrounded by trees and sit back off the road. Even though there are neighbors on both side you don't notice them because of the trees. The cabin is very clean and had everything we needed and a large clean grill for cooking out. Highly recommend this cabin for 2 or a family of 4.

Perfect slice of heaven! Truly right on the lake with beautiful mountains and sunsets. Susan was fantastic and easily available. Peaceful and restful. Clean comfortable excellent location, enjoyed the kayaks canoe and paddle boat , we really enjoyed the chairs on the dock. The Beach area and Sandy cove was a great way to enter water for swimming.

Beautiful spot

Excellent stay at Upper Chateaugay Lake

Property is beautiful and cabin was very cozy and clean. Hiking is nearby but I was perfectly content spending the day at the cabin and enjoying the various sitting spaces around the property, and of course the lake. The table and chairs on the dock was a favorite spot. Host was lovely to communicate with and made us feel at home during our stay with practically everything we needed. Definitely recommend this rental and hope to be back in the future! Thanks again!

Amazing!

Spent two wonderful nights at Adirondack Sunset cabin with my 12 yr old pup. Our first day was sunny, so I was able to see the incredible sunset from the beach area. Wow is all I can say! The property and lake were extremely peaceful and quiet. My dog only wades in the water, but if you have a dog who likes to swim, this is the place! There's a large fire pit, with plenty of wood to have a campfire. The cabin is very clean, warm & cozy. The bed was very comfortable. My dog loved sleeping in front of the gas fireplace. I had no issues with wifi or cell service at the cabin. Although I didn't adventure beyond the property, I'd imagine there are many beautiful places to see or hike close by. Thankful there was still plenty of color on the trees. The Adirondacks are stunning any time of year, but in the Fall they're breathtaking! I can't imagine any season being a bad season at this cabin. Susan was a very thoughtful host and checked in a few times to see if I needed anything, which I didn't because she's pretty much thought of everything you could need. Directions for the fireplace, furnace, and lights were very clear. Was very pleased with my stay and will definitely be back in the future. Maybe when it's warmer so I can go for a swim.

Paradise Found!

Perfection! This adorable cabin has everything needed for a fabulous stay. We bought groceries in town. No need for condiments, cleansers, storage bags, etc. it’s all here!!!! From bacon, eggs & toast to grilled steaks on the gas grill, everything needed is there. Most of all, we loved being outside in the pristine back yard to enjoy Lake Chateaugay. Best vacation we've ever booked!

Honestly, I can't say enough. Two years ago was our first time booking this beautiful escape with Susan and I didn't know what to expect. We have had bad experiences in the past, so we were nervous. I had absolutely nothing to worry about. This was the BEST booking we've ever done and were not exaggerating. If you book this amazing vacation you will not be disappointed. Susan surpassed my expectations on how communicative and accomodating she is. I got to personally meet Susan and her husband and they are the nicest people and exceptional hosts. The property is clean, gorgeous, quiet and private. The sunsets off the dock were breathtaking and the fishing was awesome! I just can't say enough. Thank you Susan and Greg for 2 great summer vacations at this rental. We now have great memories that will last a lifetime : )

Adirondack Sunset Delight

My wife and I spent a wonderful week at this cozy retreat on Upper Chateaugay Lake. The cabin had all the amenities to make our stay convenient and comfortable. The private beach and dock were perfect for relaxation in the sun. We took the canoe out on the lake and enjoyed a long row and some fishing. We also enjoyed hiking some of the area's trails including Ausable Chasm, Silver Lake and High Falls Park. The owner Susan was very communicative and provided all the check in details and gave us some ideas for sites to visit while we were there. The description of the property and everything else is 100% accurate. I highly recommend this picturesque escape. Thank you Susan!

Great getaway place!

Very comfortable cabin and spectacular lakeside property. Amazing sunsets, awesome dock and the place is fully equipped. We will rebook again for sure. Susan did a great job of making sure all was going great throughout the stay.

Another great vacation

This is our 3rd time staying at Adirondack Sunset (1st time during the winter) and we enjoyed everything about the location. Susan was always checking in to make sure everything was ok and answered any questions promptly. Looking forward to returning in the future.

Adirondack sunset

This property was the perfect location for my husband and I to celebrate our wedding anniversary! The cabin is extremely cozy and has all the elements for a great stay! We enjoyed several nights around the beautiful fire pit, canoeing the gorgeous lake and fishing from the dock.Susan was great with her communication and that made our stay even more enjoyable! Peaceful Quiet Visit by the Lake

We both enjoyed our time on Upper Chateaugay Lake. The cabin was tidy and cute with everything that we needed. We used the canoe for fishing and paddling, made a campfire with the wood that was provided and enjoyed hiking Lyon Mountain. Thanks for a great stay!!

The cabin was great. All the basics were provided. I can’t say enough about the view of mountains surrounding the lake! I was in Heaven! I got to see & hear the Loons which I loved. Had a great time at the lake kayaking & especially watching the gorgeous sunsets!
