The Apple Cottage was nice, lovely grounds. Roger & Mel were easy to talk with and accommodating. Roger was hilarious :) The policies (of which I did not see in their T&Cs but maybe I missed it. I am human and occasionally make mistakes) are a little frustrating. Example; There is not a check-in window ie 4-10pm. They will email you; What time will you be here? And they expect a pinpoint time, not a reasonable 1-2 hour window. Ireland has a lot of traffic. I felt pressured to leave other activities as they charge 20 euros per hour if you show up after your stated time.Additionally; their published rate is for ONLY one of the two bedrooms! This was my first Vrbo rental and maybe other properties operate this way. But, I was surprised to find out my friend and I are expected to share a double bed unless we pay a lot higher rate. I assumed two men is low occupancy, nope. Low occupancy here, is one room.On-site you sign another agreement; states no charge-backs for any charges on your credit card. Also states the owner may charge you any amount they feel accurate to replace anything. Yes, there are bad renters out there but I felt blindsided, again.They will also immediately remove you from the property if you have a guest(s). I get they do not want hosted events but not being allowed to invite a local friend over for some tea and a chat seems unreasonable. There is a security camera directly above the front door.Owner lives ocean-front on-site.Again, grounds are lovely.
