'Place was very nice. The grounds are well kept and everything is clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food is very average, especially considering what they charge for it.'

'Aya Sophia was a perfect add on to our south beach stay when visiting Dar. Visiting the animals was a perfect way for our kids to see them without the crazy prices of a safari park (as a foreigner). Great rooms, gardens and the restaurant food (we ate curry) was also excellent '

'everything we asked for got and very cheap was well worth the price'

'3rd or 4th time I've stayed here. Lovely location by the sea, grounds well kept with really nice flowers, trees, and bushes. Food was good, staff friendly and helpful. Used Bolt taxi app to come and go and this worked well. I plan to come via here again next year.'

'Prachtige plaats aan de oceaan op Kigamboni, een schiereiland van Dar es Salaam. Palmen en een mooi strand. Nieuwe luxe kamers. Heel aardige staf. Helaas even geen internet. '

'a lovely seaside location. Villa Dahl staff were very friendly and helpful at all times - including my arrival from the airport at 5 a.m. the pool was clean and inviting. the sea was a feet meters beyond the hotel gate. taxis were familiar with the hotel and how to get there. the hotel doesn't change money but it will convert your hotel / restaurant costs into pounds / dollars euros to make card payments easy.'

'Çok güleryüzlü insanlar internette gördüğüm fotograflardan daha iyidi. Müdür çok ilgiliydi ve yardımcı oldu'

'I would 100 % not go here again. The service is terrible. Upon arrival, we did not get any service or information. No smile, no welcome. Just a very complicated and SLOW process to check in. The people in the reception don't speak English, mostly Swahili. But even without English it is possible to smile and be welcoming. We just got the key to the room, no information about wifi, breakfast or facilities. The hotel also claimed my pre-payment was declined, and I had to call to hotels.com to...

'The place/hotel to go if cleanliness is your priority. Buffet breakfast was great, with a fair amount of healthy choices. Location not the most ideal if you don’t like mingling or the hussle and bussle (kind of crowded area, with lots of all kinds of traffic). Morning loud speaker prayers (at least x3 from 4am to 6am) also kind of a nuisance ... no offence to our moslem brothers. Perfect if you're a people person who like to immerse in other people's cultures; lots of eating/shopping/socializing...
