My recent stay (May 17-18) at Extended Stay America Suites Indianapolis Castleton was the worst hotel experience Iâve ever had. I traveled with my 13 year old daughter and her friend.
It started when we walked into our assigned room, Room 224. The smell of cigarette smoke was over powering. Thereâs no way we could have stayed in that room overnight without all of our belongings smelling of smoke as well. We immediately turned around to go ask about switching rooms. David, the front desk attendant was on the 2nd floor and I inquired if it was possible we had been given a smoking room. He informed me that all rooms are nonsmoking. When I explained the condition of our room and asked if we could switch, he said he would see what he could do, as the hotel was close to full for the night.Â
We went back downstairs and he moved us to 317. He accompanied us to make sure the room was satisfactory. Room 317, at first sight was much better as there was no smell of cigaratte smoke. This is where things really went downhill.Â
The countertop was covered in a sticky substance, but being a mom, I didnât mind to wipe it down with a wet cloth.Â
After leaving briefly to get some food, we returned to the room and I pulled back the covers to the bed nearest the bathroom. It was quite obvious the sheets on the bed had not been changed. It was covered in what seemed to possibly be crumbs. So I checked the other bed, and it had obvious hair in it. (Pictures included).
At this I went back downstairs
