We booked two nights at the Grand Idyllwild Lodge through Expedia for a family weekend, but upon arrival after a long drive through the rain, we discovered our reserved cottage was already occupied. The only available option was a single king bed room unsuitable for four adults, and staff directed us back to Expedia without any real assistance. With spotty cell service and impending dinner reservations at Cafe Aroma, we scrambled to find alternate accommodations and ultimately stayed one night at a lower-star motel recommended by the restaurant’s staff, who were very helpful. We received a refund notice via text from the lodge, but no further support or follow-up. While the lodge facilities looked great, the lack of customer service was extremely disappointing and we definitely won’t use Expedia again. Thanks to Cafe Aroma for an amazing dinner and saving part of the trip.
