The Space:

Our A-frame combines the charm of a classic mountain cabin with the comforts of a relaxing getaway. Its distinctive architecture, warm interior, and riverside setting make it a wonderful place to slow down between adventures.



Sleeping Arrangements

- Private bedroom with a queen bed.

- Sleeping loft with a double bed, accessed by a ladder.

- Fresh linens, pillows, and extra blankets provided.



The loft is a cozy additional sleeping space, but ladder access requires comfortable climbing and may not be suitable for guests with mobility limitations or young children.



Kitchen & Living

- Fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, cookware, and dining essentials.

- Comfortable living area for relaxing after a day outdoors.

- Reliable, thermostat-controlled propane heating for colder weather.

- Evaporative cooler located in the loft for warmer weather.



The evaporative cooler provides seasonal cooling but does not regulate the entire cabin as evenly as conventional air conditioning.

Spring: Watch the valley turn green and the river gather energy as snowmelt makes its way down from the mountains. Enjoy scenic drives, hiking opportunities, and the changing landscape.



Summer: Spend your days rafting, fishing, hiking, or exploring the mountains. Come back to relax on the deck and enjoy the long Colorado evenings.



Fall: Golden cottonwoods, crisp mountain air, beautiful drives, and quieter days make autumn a particularly special time along the river.



Winter: Head toward Monarch Mountain for skiing and snowboarding, explore Salida's shops and restaurants, or simply enjoy the slower pace of the valley before returning to your warm cabin.



Salida's restaurants, galleries, shopping, and historic downtown are an easy drive away. The surrounding region offers access to hiking, biking, fishing, rafting outfitters, and mountain recreation.



After dark, look up. Our location away from the bright lights of larger towns makes the night sky one of the memorable parts of staying here.



Getting Around:

A car is recommended to make the most of the area. Parking is free and located directly next to the cabin.



For guests flying in, Gunnison–Crested Butte Regional Airport (GUC) is about 1 hour and 15 minutes away. Rental cars are available at the airport for a scenic drive into the valley.

Classic cabin character: This is an older Colorado A-frame with the charm and quirks of traditional mountain accommodations. We take pride in keeping it clean, comfortable, and welcoming while preserving its rustic character.



Loft access: The sleeping loft is reached by a ladder and may not be suitable for young children or guests with mobility limitations.



Summer cooling: The cabin has an evaporative cooler located in the loft rather than conventional whole-cabin air conditioning. Indoor temperatures can vary during particularly hot weather.



Natural surroundings: Our riverside location is part of the experience. Depending on the season, you may encounter insects, wildlife, cottonwood fluff, and other normal features of the outdoors.



Connectivity: Starlink Wi-Fi is provided. AT&T generally offers the most reliable cellular coverage in the area.



On-site dining: A seasonal bar and grill operates on select days. Hours and availability vary.



House rules: This is a non-smoking cabin. Please respect designated quiet hours and other property rules provided with your reservation.
