Le Gîte de Saint-Maixent Le Petit

Nestled among fields, wooded hillsides, and a small river, our guesthouse is surrounded by nature. Fully restored with respect for the site, this former priory is a special vacation destination. A very large grassy courtyard in front of the house, a swimming pool in the back, along with a large garden, swings, and a bocce court offer children all the space they could dream of for playing. The first floor features a large, inviting kitchen that opens onto the living room through a large glass door, as well as a separate restroom. On the first floor, a spacious landing leads to two bedrooms. One bedroom features a 160-bed with its own private shower room and toilet; the other bedroom has a 160-bed and a 90-bed, with a private bathroom including a shower and bathtub, and a private toilet. On the second floor: Another large landing leads to two very cozy attic bedrooms with exposed beams. The first bedroom has a 160 bed; the second bedroom, which we call the "little dorm," has three 90 beds. It’s a room where the kids love to gather and tell each other stories! There is a shared bathroom and a separate toilet on this floor. A 30 m² studio nearby, certified accessible for people with disabilities, can be rented to increase the capacity to 12 people (in this case, book the “Tout à la Fois” package). Depending on the season, you’ll be surrounded by grain fields (wheat, sunflowers, or rapeseed) and can admire herds of Limousin cows grazing in the pastures. Please note that, depending on wind conditions, there may be occasional noise from stone-cutting operations at the Haims quarry. Heating is provided by a central pellet boiler. A wood-burning stove is also available for winter evenings in the living room. The pool is heated in the spring and fall when outdoor temperatures permit.
